Head of Procurement (all genders)

As the Head of Procurement, you will steer a dynamic team, sculpting the purchasing strategy and vision across the company. With a focus on efficiency, quality, and cost[1]effectiveness, your leadership will ensure that procurement processes align with business goals and market competitiveness. You'll innovate, manage risks, and engage stakeholders to fortify our position and drive our success in a complex global market.

About the position

• Lead a category-based, distributed procurement team – managing both direct and matrixed reporting lines.
• Assume overall responsibility for Purchasing and Cost Estimating activities across the business.
• Develop and implement a purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
• Ensure that purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets. This includes the evaluation and rationalization of supply chain solutions, such as vendor managed inventory, supplier consignments, and safety stock, enabling the company to compete effectively in the market.
• Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and act to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
• Contribute to the overall business strategy and the annual budget process.
• Maintain ownership of the purchasing policy, guidelines, and any associated documents.
• Initiate and foster creative and innovative procurement processes (eProcurement). • Empower functional teams to negotiate and manage framework contracts.
• Establish best practices and processes to enhance quality and realize cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure the correctness, consistency, and efficiency of SAP Data Management. • Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management skills.

About you

• Possess a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a business-related field.
• Bring at least eight years of relevant work experience.
• Exemplify a strong analytical mindset and structured work style.
• Have a minimum of three years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrate proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
• Possess excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
• Are a strong and confident negotiator with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
• Are an excellent communicator, with outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Exhibit excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Are results-oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines in a structured manner.
• Are commercially and financially astute with experience in managing budgets and structuring financial strategies
