The Head of Financial Reporting & External Audit is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing financial reporting processes and managing the external audit function for multiple jurisdictions. This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership and communication skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
About your key responsibilities and impact:
- Managing the preparation and submission of timely and accurate financial reports, including statutory and non-statutory reports;
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards;
- Coordinating with external auditors to manage the audit process efficiently;
- Managing the preparation and submission of tax returns and other tax-related reports;
- Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, including tax planning and optimization strategies;
- Coordinating with tax authorities and external advisors as necessary;
- Identifying and mitigating financial reporting and tax risks.
Essential professional experience:
- Financial principles and standards: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements;
- Business acumen: Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for software and gambling business;
- Strategic thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategies that align with the overall business strategy. This includes the capability to understand market trends, audit potential, trends in ERP systems;
- ERP systems: Understanding of ERP systems' possibilities and limitations, experience in ERP system improvement;
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to details to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting process;
- Compliance and control: In-depth knowledge of internal controls, risk management and compliance frameworks to mitigate financial risks and ensure regulatory compliance;
- Regulatory knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards in finance and accounting. This includes understanding compliance and risk management practices;
- Taxation knowledge: Understanding of tax regulation in major jurisdictions of GR8 Tech, ability to figure out tax regulation in other jurisdictions. Familiarity with corporate income tax, VAT, WHT, employee taxation. Understanding of special tax regimes available in target jurisdictions (IP box regime, etc);
- Audit knowledge: Understanding and experience in external audits, knowledge of audit procedures;
- Technological proficiency: Familiarity with financial software, accounting systems;
- Problem-solving abilities: The capacity to identify and solve complex financial issues, often under tight deadlines and pressure;
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-finance professionals, including senior management, stakeholders, and external parties;
- Leadership skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, provide guidance and direction to achieve departmental goals and high results in efficient and effective manner;
- Language skills: English upper-intermediate or higher.
