The Glencore 2026 Industrial Placement Programme
Designed to accelerate your career in the commodities trading, technology, engineering, or environmental science spheres, this 12-month programme gives talented undergraduates exposure to the world-class people and careers on offer at Glencore.
This is a fast-paced placement in our London office. You will be given your own areas of responsibility and have the opportunity to contribute to the work of the business from day one.
By the end of the programme, you will have developed strong skills in your chosen function. You will also be equipped with the highest level of professionalism, personal ownership and commercial aptitude – skills that are essential to future careers at Glencore.
The Asset Management and ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) Placement
Our Asset Management and ERM team provides strategic and functional support to our businesses and assets globally, ensuring that operations are delivered in a safe, reliable and responsible manner, and risks are understood and managed effectively. This role will be focused on Business Projects and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), working closely with our Assets in South Africa and Brazil. The team is involved across the full lifecycle, and is engaged in supporting all levels in the business, from front line operations to senior level governance, offering an invaluable insight into all aspects of the business.
Glencore defines ERM as the application of risk management principles and risk-based decision-making across our Group to assist us in achieving our strategic objectives in compliance with our Code of Conduct.
In this placement, you’ll support members of the Asset Management and ERM team, contributing to their work on projects and initiatives encapsulating all key strategic areas of the underlying assets. This role will report to the Asset Manager & ERM Lead (Oil Assets).
Key requirements:
- Studying towards a Finance, Economics or Maths degree (or similar subjects)
- Exhibits a strong sense of accountability and a commitment to delivering results
- Strong numeracy, analytical and financial skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Organised, process orientated, diligence driven and a strong attention to detail
- Independent/self-starter
- Portuguese language skills useful, but not required

You must be studying a degree with a year in industry, and successful candidates need to be available to start their placements in July 2026.
