Global Onboarding Product Manager (Channels)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are transforming merchant onboarding from a fragmented, partially manual process into a fully digital, scalable, and conversion-optimized platform across multiple markets.

As Product Manager for Onboarding, you will report to the Channels Product team at HQ and work closely with Getnet franchises across our footprint. You will be responsible for defining, building, and scaling best-in-class onboarding experiences for merchants across all segments.

You will own the end-to-end onboarding journey, from merchant acquisition to activation, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and scalable experience that balances conversion, risk, and operational efficiency, ensuring measurable business impact.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Marketing, and Design, to define product strategy, build roadmaps, and drive execution.

This role requires strong customer-centric thinking, data-driven decision-making, and deep knowledge of payments onboarding, KYC/KYB processes, and regulatory frameworks.

This is a high-impact role where you will balance growth, risk, and user experience while driving measurable business outcomes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be responsible for:

Product Strategy & Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end onboarding product lifecycle: discovery, strategy, delivery, and continuous optimization
  • Define and drive the onboarding product vision and roadmap across multiple markets (BR, MX, AR, CL, UY, EU...)
  • Prioritize initiatives balancing global scalability with local regulatory needs

Funnel Optimization & Growth

  • Optimize the onboarding funnel (lead → application → verification → activation)
  • Improve key metrics such as conversion rate, time-to-onboard, and activation rates
  • Identify and eliminate friction points across the user journey

Product Discovery & Experimentation

  • Lead product discovery through user research, data analysis, and stakeholder insights
  • Define problem spaces and validate solutions before development
  • Run experiments (A/B testing) to continuously improve performance

Risk, Compliance & Operations

  • Design onboarding flows that balance UX, compliance (KYC/KYB, AML, PSD2), and fraud prevention
  • Partner closely with Risk & Compliance to ensure regulatory adherence across markets
  • Drive automation and straight-through processing (STP) to reduce manual effort and costs

Technology & Execution

  • Collaborate with Engineering to build scalable, API-first onboarding systems
  • Define requirements for integrations with third-party providers (identity verification, OCR, fraud tools, data enrichment)
  • Contribute to system design discussions and ensure technical feasibility

Data & Business Impact

  • Define, track, and improve core KPIs:
    • Conversion rate (application → activation)
    • Time to onboard / time to first transaction
    • Funnel drop-off rates
    • Cost per onboarded merchant
    • Risk acceptance and fraud rates
    • NPS
  • Build business cases and contribute to product P&L and ROI tracking

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management
  • Strong experience in payments, fintech, acquiring, or onboarding platforms
  • Proven record of accomplishment of building and scaling digital products with measurable impact
  • Experience working in international / multi-market environments

 

Product & Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of onboarding flows, KYC/KYB processes, and regulatory environments
  • Experience working with APIs, integrations, and platform-based architectures
  • Ability to work hands-on with data (funnel analysis, experimentation, dashboards)
  • Comfortable collaborating closely with engineering teams on technical topics

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, or a related field
  • MBA or postgraduate degree is a plus

 

Languages

  • Fluent in Spanish & English
  • Portuguese is a strong plus given collaboration with Brazil

 

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in global payments or acquiring ecosystems
  • Strong expertise in merchant onboarding platforms
  • Experience managing product P&L and business cases
  • Hands-on experience with third-party vendors and negotiations
  • Understanding of regulatory environments across multiple geographies
  • Experience driving platform or API-first product strategies
