Data & AI Associate

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Data & AI Expert is a hands-on role within a global organization at the forefront of the payments industry. You will be directly responsible for designing, building, and deploying Data & AI solutions, and later for technically leading the Mexico Hub of the Global AI Lab, with a strong focus on delivering business value.

Strategic Alignment & Executive Visibility

· Translate business needs into robust, scalable technical solutions.

· Define KPIs, value metrics, and reporting frameworks to demonstrate impact.

· Provide progress updates, risk assessments, and results to senior stakeholders in global and local structures.

· Ensure all local initiatives directly support business priorities while remaining aligned with the global Data & AI operating model and unified roadmap

Project Delivery & Technical Leadership

· Lead end-to-end project execution: problem framing, data analysis, modeling, validation, industrialization, and deployment.

· Provide deep technical guidance to the team, solving complex engineering and ML challenges.

· Frame problems from a business perspective, prioritizing impact, feasibility, and time-to-value.

· Guide teams and stakeholders to balance technical rigor with business urgency and strategic relevance.

· Ensure adherence to global governance, architectural principles, and reusable assets defined by the Global CDAIO.

Technical Execution of Data & AI Initiatives

· Design, prototype, and deploy Machine Learning models, LLM-based solutions, AI Agents and advanced analytics use cases.

· Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures (batch & streaming) on platforms such as Databricks and Azure.

· Adopt global MLOps/LLMOps practices, ensuring reliability, observability, governance, and efficient model lifecycle operations.

· Leverage global accelerators, frameworks, and reusable components to accelerate delivery and reduce time to impact.

Building and Leading the Getnet AI Lab in Mexico

(After the initial period in Madrid)

· Build and lead the Mexico Hub of the Global AI Lab, reinforcing a unified global structure with distributed hubs

· Establish the technical foundations, tooling, and workflows of the Getnet AI Lab.

· Collaborate closely with product, business, and technology teams to identify high-value opportunities and execute them end to end.

· Lead local technical teams of AI engineers and Data Scientists.

· Foster a culture of experimentation, technical excellence, and responsible AI adoption.

· Ensure ongoing collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and alignment with the global AI Lab community.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

· 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, machine learning, advanced analytics, or AI solution development.

· Proven experience delivering technical solutions in production environments—ideally in payments, fintech, or banking.

· Strong expertise with Databricks, Azure, Spark, Python, MLflow, and modern data/AI stacks.

· Experience implementing MLOps/LLMOps frameworks and operating models in real-world environments.

· Hybrid leadership capability: deep technical expertise combined with strong business acumen, value framing, and stakeholder influence

· Ability to technically guide teams and lead end-to-end project execution.

· Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and business stakeholders.

· Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.

· A mindset focused on business results, leveraging global standards to accelerate value creation while building local capabilities
