This is an exciting opportunity to join GetHarley if you are a bookkeeper or a part-qualified accountant looking to kick-start your finance career.

As we head into an exciting stage of growth, this is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a scaling Finance Team which we are building from the ground up. Reporting directly to our Finance Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our finance function. From creating foundational processes to co-developing strategies for a scalable, future-proof department, this role offers an unparalleled opportunity to make an impact from day one.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years of experience who is looking to deepen their financial expertise and take on more responsibility in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day finance operations (AR, AP and commission reports)
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Perform month-end and year-end adjustments and reconciliations
  • Prepare and process journal entries
  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations
  • Support the production of monthly management accounts
  • Assist with VAT returns and other regulatory filings
  • Support the Finance Manager with reporting and ad hoc finance tasks
  • Run and contribute to improving financial processes and internal controls
  • Take on broader finance responsibilities as the company scales

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
  • Must have completed AAT exams (Level 4 or equivalent) or be a part-qualified accountant
  • Strong understanding of month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Proficient in accounting principles and financial reporting
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Experience in VAT returns, bookkeeping and management accounts
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Enthusiastic about joining a fast-paced, mission-led startup
  • Experience using Xero (strong plus)

Office location 

We have a Marylebone, London HQ which is open anytime you want to pop in. This role is hybrid with 1-2 days working in the office per week.
