Database Analyst
The Database Analyst at Fuze Health plays a critical role in managing and optimizing data infrastructure that supports hospice care providers with real-time pharmacy analytics and medication management tools. Reporting to IT leadership, this role ensures high availability, performance, and security of database systems while bridging traditional on-premises environments with modern cloud-based solutions for Fuze Care Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across versions ranging from SQL Server 2008 through 2022 and beyond.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Administer and optimize AWS-based database environments, including Amazon RDS for SQL Server and EC2-hosted instances.
- ETL Development & Management: Design, deploy, and troubleshoot SSIS packages to support complex data integration, transformation, and reporting workflows.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance using tools such as SQL Profiler and Dynamic Management Views (DMVs); analyze and optimize queries and execution plans to improve system efficiency.
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Implement and manage high-availability solutions including Always On Availability Groups, log shipping, and backup/restore strategies to meet defined RPO/RTO objectives.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all database systems comply with HIPAA regulations and internal security standards to protect sensitive patient health information.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain PowerShell and T-SQL scripts to automate routine database maintenance, monitoring, and health checks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, analytics, and operations teams to support data-driven initiatives and ensure system reliability.
- Adaptability & Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices; contribute to ongoing improvements in infrastructure and processes.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in production environments.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server 2012 through current versions, including upgrades and side-by-side migrations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including RDS, EC2, S3, and IAM for database management and automation.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining SSIS packages for ETL processes.
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and/or T-SQL for automation and system maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working with healthcare data and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and their integration with SQL Server.
Benefits:
The compensation range for this position is $116,000-$145,000, in addition we offer a range of benefits including:
