Position Overview
As a Legal & Compliance Operations Intern at Founda, you’ll immerse yourself in the dynamic intersection of law, compliance, and healthcare technology. This role goes beyond operational support—it’s an opportunity to engage directly with key initiatives that shape Founda’s legal and compliance strategies. From analyzing regulatory frameworks to improving contract workflows and supporting cross-functional projects, you’ll play a pivotal role in scaling Founda’s legal and compliance functions.

We are looking for a Legal & Compliance Operations Intern to join our team starting February 2025 for a period of (minimum) 6 months.
Role & Responsibilities
Legal Operations Support
- Support the preparation and documentation of key legal workflows to enhance efficiency and clarity.
- Assist with training initiatives by preparing materials and resources that improve team knowledge.
- Conduct initial reviews of NDAs, DPAs, and other lower-risk contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Engage in corporate governance activities for local and international entities, collaborating with local legal and notary offices to ensure compliance.
- Help maintain and optimize the contract repository for easy access and secure storage.
- Take on ad-hoc legal projects, gaining exposure to a wide variety of legal topics.
Compliance Operations Support
- Research and analyze key regulations (e.g., NIS2, EU AI Act, GDPR) to identify requirements and assess their impact on Founda’s operations.
- Contribute to the organization and improvement of compliance documentation, ensuring accessibility and alignment with business needs.
- Assist in building a comprehensive knowledge base to streamline responses to vendor security questionnaires.
- Support the creation of a requirements matrix by reviewing customer contracts and extracting critical service dependencies.
You have:
- A strong interest in law, compliance, and regulatory frameworks, with a desire to grow your expertise in these areas.
- Basic knowledge of contract law, legal terminology, and compliance principles.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage documents, track regulatory requirements, and support multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong research and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex legal information into actionable insights.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- An interest in healthcare technology or experience in the healthcare sector is a plus.
We prefer that the intern be enrolled at a Dutch university or college for the entire duration of the internship. In the case of non-EU nationality, the student must have a legitimate work permit with student status, which will not expire during the duration of the internship. Students from outside the EU need to fill in a NUFFIC agreement, which needs to be signed by the student and the university.
Recruitment Process
