This role will allow you to develop your analytical skills as you assess life sciences companies to identify value through scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial and financial perspectives. You will learn and work alongside a diverse international team of investors with extensive experience in the life sciences.
The primary role of the fellow will be to support daily deal flow management and initial evaluation of new investment opportunities and landscaping projects. Other activities will include support of investment due diligence and special projects. This activity is expected to provide exposure to several biotech companies spanning a range of therapeutic areas and stages of development.
The fellowship is for 6-9 months on a full-time basis working at the Forbion head office in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Physical presence is required.
Professional and Personal Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate that has:
- Recently graduated with an MD or PhD/post-doc in biomedical sciences, medicine, pharmacology or similar
- Strong academic results – GPA in top of the class from highly ranked university
- Demonstrated interest in life sciences innovation
- Previous experience in investment or strategy consulting is a plus
- Fluent communication in English, both verbal and written
- International experience is appreciated
- Right to live and work in the EU

Studying for an MBA or MSc in finance? Recent MBA/MSc graduates, or current students with an option to do an internship, are also encouraged to apply, provided you also meet the other criteria, notably a biomedical degree, and ability to commit to 6 months full time.
