About First Digital and Finance District

Role Purpose 

The Finance District Lead owns the Finance District vertical end to end. You are the commercial, strategic, and operational leader for the business — accountable for moving Finance District from investment phase to a sustainable profit centre, while building a category-defining brand in agentic payments and the on-chain economy. 

You will own the P&L, set the strategy, build the team, represent Finance District publicly, and drive cross-functional execution across product, growth, partnerships, token, and community. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategy and P&L 

  • Own the Finance District P&L; develop and maintain the business case, budget, and unit economics 
  • Set the strategic roadmap across the four Finance District pillars: Growth, Ecosystem Partnerships, Token and Community, and Product 
  • Make commercial decisions on pricing, market priorities, exchange listings strategy, and capital allocation 
  • Report on Finance District performance to the executive team on a regular cadence 

Team and Cross-Functional Leadership 

  • Directly lead the Finance District team, including the Growth, Ecosystem Partnerships, and Token and Community functions 
  • Influence and coordinate group shared services across product, engineering, legal, compliance, marketing, operations, and finance 
  • Build, retain, and develop a high-performing team that can operate at the frontier of crypto, fintech, and AI 

Token Program 

  • Execute the FDFI token program against the direction set by the FDFI token committee 
  • Carry strategic exchange relationships and represent Finance District in tokenomics discussions 
  • Coordinate day-to-day token operations with the Token and Community Lead, who runs the program 

External Representation 

  • Act as the public face of Finance District at industry conferences, panels, podcasts, X, and on builder and foundation forums 
  • Build relationships with major exchanges, blockchain foundations, ecosystem partners, investors, and regulators 
  • Shape and protect the Finance District brand and narrative 

Compliance and Risk 

  • Operate within group compliance, risk, and operational frameworks; partner with shared services to ensure all Finance District activity meets regulatory and internal standards 
  • Anticipate emerging regulatory developments — Hong Kong stablecoin regime, EU MiCA, US developments — and adjust strategy accordingly

Required Experience 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or P&L-accountable role 
  • Track record of running a business line, vertical, or 0-to-1 product at a fintech, payments, crypto, or AI infrastructure company 
  • Deep, working-level knowledge of stablecoins, DeFi, tokenomics, the exchange landscape, and the wider crypto ecosystem; ideally also working familiarity with AI agents and the agentic economy 
  • Demonstrated experience as a public-facing leader — speaking, writing, and visible thought leadership 
  • Quantitative fluency: comfortable owning a P&L, modelling unit economics, and reasoning about tokenomics 
  • Strong cross-functional leadership in a matrixed environment; able to operate both up to executive leadership and down into operational detail 
  • Experience based in or working across APAC fintech hubs (Hong Kong, Singapore) strongly preferred 
  • Comfort operating at the intersection of regulated finance and permissionless on-chain ecosystems
