We are committed to removing barriers for everyone, with a focus on addressing those faced by underrepresented groups.

The Role

We are seeking a Commercial Partner to enhance the skills, knowledge and capabilities of our revenue-generating teams. This role plays a pivotal part in strengthening commercial performance by shaping and delivering a forward-looking development strategy that supports business growth.

You will partner closely with commercial leaders to understand market dynamics, customer needs, product strategy and competitive positioning. With this insight, you will design and deliver high-quality, innovative learning interventions that directly improve team performance and contribute to measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a commercial development strategy aligned to business priorities and future workforce planning.

  • Build deep understanding of market context, customers, products and competitive landscape to inform capability initiatives.

  • Partner with senior commercial stakeholders to agree priorities and execute a blended, high-impact learning plan.

  • Clearly define performance objectives and ensure disciplined execution and delivery of agreed initiatives.

  • Maintain a forward-looking pipeline of actions, with activity planned at least three months in advance and demonstrable monthly progress.

  • Report regularly to stakeholders on performance outcomes, risks, opportunities and measurable impact.

  • Design and deliver engaging commercial skills training, both in-person and virtually, using innovative and creative approaches.

  • Collaborate with Hiring Managers and Talent Acquisition to strengthen recruitment and onboarding practices.

  • Use data and insight to diagnose capability gaps and identify opportunities for performance improvement.

  • Validate analysis through engagement with employees, customers, suppliers and market intelligence.

  • Demonstrate clear strategic and tactical impact contributing to both cultural development and commercial results.

  • Continuously build professional credibility and stay current with best practice in commercial capability, digital media and learning methodologies.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of core commercial skills, digital media environments and blended learning strategies.

  • Proven ability to lead initiatives, influence stakeholders and bring people with you at all levels of a digitally focused commercial organisation.

  • Experience working within a commercial role, or within a people development function supporting commercial teams.

  • Strong relationship-building capability, with experience partnering across commercial teams, HR Business Partners and Learning & Talent colleagues.

  • Experience designing and facilitating impactful learning interventions, including virtual delivery (e.g. Google Meet or similar platforms).

  • Familiarity with psychometric tools, facilitation methodologies or team development frameworks is desirable.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to identify performance gaps and measure learning impact.

  • A growth mindset, curiosity and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.

  • Formal education in training or learning design is advantageous, though practical impact and vision are most important.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting digitally focused revenue teams within a subscription, media or information services environment.

  • Experience embedding commercial capability programmes across multiple markets or functions.

  • Coaching qualification or accreditation in recognised psychometric tools.
