Role Overview

As a Delivery Manager, you will be part of the Delivery Management Function within the Portfolio Discipline at Financial Times, working alongside a supportive, passionate team. You’ll take the lead on end-to-end delivery of critical initiatives within the Personalisation as a Service: an ambitious pivotal initiative to develop a new customisation and personalisation space for users to obtain maximum value from FT content.  It brings together cross-functional teams from Engineering, Data, Product and Commercial to deliver scalable, future-ready user solutions.

You’ll report into the Principal Delivery Manager and will:

  • Take ownership of a workstream currently in-flight, seeing it to successful completion
  • Own additional projects from the 2026 roadmap, leading from initiation to closure
  • Provide delivery support to Engineering colleagues to ensure work is estimated, planned, resourced and tracked optimally  
  • Act as a key driver of delivery quality and accountability within a sophisticated, high-profile programme
  • Support continuous improvement within our thriving Portfolio community

Please note that this will be a fixed term parental cover contract.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead project workstreams within Personalisation as a Service programme, ensuring alignment across internal and external teams
  • Quickly get up to speed on the in-flight workstream, take the reins and lead it through to successful completion
  • Take on additional full-lifecycle projects from the 2026 roadmap from shaping through to delivery and closure
  • Build strong relationships with partners in Data, Tech, Product and wider business.
  • Apply fit-for-purpose delivery practices (Agile/Lean, traditional and hybrid) suited to each context
  • Drive robust planning, governance and issue management, raising appropriately and proactively problem-solving
  • Handle dependencies and vendors confidently, prompting a culture of delivery partnership
  • Provide clear, actionable updates to partners at all levels, adapting your communication to technical and non-technical audiences.

Contribute to Portfolio Community:

  • Champion knowledge-sharing, contributing case studies, lessons learned and examples of practical excellence.
  • Support upskilling and capability building by co-delivering training and mentoring less experienced Delivery Managers
  • Facilitate Project Management Drop In sessions, helping others problem-solve in real time

About you - What you will bring 

  • A seasoned project manager, with a track record of delivering sophisticated technical projects in a fast paced agile environment.
  • Able to navigate technical landscapes with confidence, without needing to be the technical expert.
  • A natural planner and risk-spotter, always one step ahead on mitigation and clear trade-offs.
  • Confident in managing collaborators, influencing and building partnerships.
  • Experienced in vendor and partner engagement, knowing how to get the best out of 3rd parties.
  • A clear, concise communicator who can tell the story of project successes or challenges in a way that resonates.
  • A collaborative leader who inspires confidence and holds others to account with care and clarity.
  • JIRA knowledge is highly preferable.
