About the role:
The Financial Accountant role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, conducting financial analyses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role will play a key role in the month-end closing process, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit requirements, while also contributing to process improvements and efficiency enhancements
Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, pre-payment
- amortizations, and accounting schedules.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
- Review and produce financial data through data analysis to support departmental planning, forecasting,
- and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports, including ad hoc reports requiring data extraction, preparation, and
- interpretation.
- Maintain completeness and accuracy of accounting records, ensuring proper document filing and
- adherence to internal controls.
Intercompany & Transfer Pricing Transactions
- Document, seek approval, and coordinate with Financial Controllers/Accountants from other FT entities
- regarding intercompany receivables, payables, and recharges.
- Prepare and submit Transfer Pricing AFT-SOA/Invoices to authorized approvers in a timely manner.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and submit PEZA, BOI, ROHQ, and other government-required reports, ensuring compliance
- with applicable regulations and deadlines.
- Manage the preparation and timely submission of BIR and other government-related reports,
- documentation, and tax compliance requirements.
- Keep up to date with the latest Philippine Accounting Standards, tax rulings, and regulatory updates,
- assisting in resolving accounting and taxation matters as needed.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Assist the Assistant Finance Manager in fulfilling internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, recommending new procedures or improvements
- to existing processes where necessary.
- Support FT Manila stakeholders in managing departmental operating expenses, expenditure coding,
- and document preparation related to accounting activities.
System Administration & Process Improvement
- Administer and maintain accounting and reporting systems, including Oracle, Insight, and other
- financial tools.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to improve financial
- accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the
- finance team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and taxation laws.
- Proficiency in accounting systems such as Oracle, Insight, or similar ERP software.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience in financial data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
