The role 

We are looking for an individual to help us collect and verify contact information from financial institutions that are of interest to The Banker magazine and engage with these institutions to encourage their participation in The Banker's industry award programmes.

Founded in 1926, The Banker is a flagship publication of the Financial Times Group with a reputation for insightful and authoritative reporting. Our mission is to be an indispensable source of news, analysis and data for senior banking professionals globally.

Over the decades, The Banker has gained access to the world’s most influential decision-makers in banking and policymaking through monthly high-profile interviews and long reads. The publication is now also focused on daily reporting, and is developing new formats and data projects to support its global audience in making better decisions.

This is a full-time, fixed term role until the end of June 2025.

Key responsibilities

  • Utilise a friendly and professional manner via phone and email to collect data on leading global banks and financial institutions
  • Engage with banking industry professionals with a view to craft excellent working relationships and build awareness of The Banker's global brand
  • Research target financial institutions with the view of outreach and expansion of The Banker's global brand
  • Utilise The Banker's internal database and Excel to handle various projects
  • Encourage participation in The Banker's awards programmes
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the editorial team on additional administrative tasks as and when required

 

Required skills and experience

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills over phone, in-person and email
  • An adaptable communicator, able to converse with individuals at various levels of seniority
  • Strong organisation and a meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • A confident collaborator, capable of prioritising their own workload and collaborating with the wider team
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Previous customer facing experience (e.g. customer service, hospitality, etc.) is desirable
  • A keen interest in the global banking and financial industry is desirable
  • Previous CRM experience is desirable but not required
