Job Overview
We are seeking an Event Manager to join our Event Delivery team. You will be responsible for managing the logistics for the UK and international in-person events and digital events from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will be organised, professional, and confident in communicating at all levels with senior internal stakeholders and external clients. You will play a key role in helping FT Live deliver world-class in-person and digital/hybrid events, ensuring that all expectations are met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Sponsors: Ensure all contracted deliverables are met to the highest standard.
- Speakers: Provide comprehensive support and management throughout the speaker onboarding process.
- Suppliers: Source, negotiate, and liaise with suppliers.
- Budgetary Control: Maintain budgets, control costs with suppliers, and negotiate without compromising quality.
- Prepare and maintain realistic forecasts and budgets, submitting complete and accurate accounts to strict deadlines.
- Set up and lead project meetings with team members to ensure smooth delivery.
- Be present and project-manage your events onsite or digitally.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven, successful event management experience is essential.
- Confident, able to work independently to strict deadlines, and remain calm under pressure.
- Extremely organised with excellent prioritisation skills—able to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to interact with people at all levels face-to-face, in writing, or over the phone.
- Highly numerate.
- Quick learner, especially with tech and digital software.
- Flexibility to travel internationally as required.
