Linux Systems Administrator

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and loves collaborating with like‑minded engineers. You’ll be joining a talented team of Linux specialists who design, build and operate the platforms that power our business worldwide.

If you’ve come from a Systems Engineering, 3rd Line Support or Operations background, have experience building and operating Linux platforms, love troubleshooting and improving systems, and have a real passion for Open Source, you’ll fit right in. 

What will you be doing?

  • Building, maintaining and operating one of Europe's largest email platforms
  • Reviewing existing systems and recommending improvements
  • Providing 3rd line support and working closely with 2nd line teams
Working hours
  • 40hrs/week Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid working policy - 2-3 days/week in office
  • On call requirement - rotational rota, remote

Key technologies used

  • Docker, Podman
  • Debian Linux
  • Git, Ansible, Puppet
  • HAProxy load balancer 
  • Scripting – BASH, Python
  • Prometheus, Grafana
  • ZFS filesystem

(Experience of all of these technologies is not essential, however you will need a willingness to learn. See below for what we need from you)

What experience do you need under your belt?

  • Solid Linux server administration (Debian)
  • Strong understanding of email technologies (IMAP, SMTP, POP3, DKIM, DMARC etc.)
  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
  • Configuration management experience (Puppet, SaltStack)
  • Orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform)
  • SQL database knowledge (MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle)
