
Junior Financial Controller
WORK LOCATION: Berlin (hybrid, min. 2 days in the office / week)
FULL-TIME
To strengthen our finance team, we are looking for a motivated Junior Financial Controller to support our Senior Financial Controller across a variety of reporting, analysis, and operational controlling tasks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on experience in group reporting, consolidation, and financial performance management in an international environment. In addition, the position is designed to progressively evolve into a more operational controlling role, with growing involvement in cross-departmental financial support. As part of this development, the Junior Financial Controller will act as a business partner for selected functions, providing financial insights, preparing cost and performance analyses, and supporting departmental planning processes in close collaboration with the Senior Financial Controller.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Assist the Senior Financial Controller in internal reporting processes, monthly closings, and associated workflows across the group.
- Support the enhancement and partial automation of reporting through Business Intelligence tools, programming, and statistical methods.
- Help maintain and utilize LucaNet (Financial Software) for group consolidation, provisions, and reporting activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial analyses, business models, and budget vs. actual variance analyses, providing insights for decision-making.
- Support the development of budget structures, cost center frameworks, and independent KPI reporting across departments.
- Collaborate on operational controlling initiatives, including Cost Performance Controlling, Departmental KPI Systems, Contribution Margin Accounting, and Profitability and Pricing Analyses to deepen management reporting quality.
WHAT YOU BRING IN:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of professional experience in financial controlling or a related finance function.
- Strong affinity for Business Intelligence systems; practical experience with LucaNet is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Group Accounting principles and consolidation processes.
- Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Interest in developing skills in operational controlling areas.
- Proactive and structured working style with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and cultures.
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- English proficiency is required. Knowledge of German is a strong plus.
