Overview

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join Eversports on our mission to make sports more accessible for everyone. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead our Legal and Compliance strategy, ensuring our growth is built on solid foundations. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, you’ll advise on GDPR, compliance, contracts, ESOP, corporate governance, and M&A, shaping a legal function that empowers innovation, trust, and sustainable growth.

Work time: Part-time (20-25h/week)

Planned start: December 2025

Location: VIENNA, Austria

Your Tasks

  • Be Eversports’ legal backbone: Advise internal teams on a broad range of legal matters
  • Ensure GDPR & data protection compliance: Act as internal GDPR lead, liaise with authorities when needed, and make sure privacy principles are consistently implemented across the organization
  • Own contracts & alignment: Draft and review commercial, intercompany, vendor, and freelancer agreements, maintain the company’s contract database, track deadlines and obligations, and keep our B2B/B2C general terms and conditions (GTC) up to date
  • Drive compliance excellence: Stay ahead of evolving EU and national regulations and translate them into actionable, scalable frameworks
  • Enable strategic growth: Provide legal guidance on M&A, market expansion, and other topics to safeguard Eversports’ next growth phase
  • Contribute to capital structure & ESOP: Support the setup, documentation, and ongoing management of ESOP/VSOP programs, ensuring proper governance and compliance with local requirements
  • Safeguard intellectual property & brand assets: Manage trademarks and IP rights, advise on licensing agreements, and protect brand integrity
  • Champion legal enablement: Educate teams, simplify complexity, and foster a culture where compliance and innovation go hand-in-hand

Your Profile

  • Qualified legal background with a degree in law (Austria or another EU jurisdiction); Austrian bar admission is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate, commercial, or compliance law, ideally ideally within a tech, SaaS, or scale-up environment
  • Strong project management skills: able to coordinate multiple stakeholders, align departments, and ensure new policies and processes are effectively rolled out
  • Proven ability to identify risks, suggest improvements, and guide teams toward compliant and practical solutions across GDPR, contracts, and corporate governance; experience with M&A or ESOP/VSOP is an advantage
  • Fluent in German and English, with the ability to communicate complex legal topics clearly
  • Autonomous and proactive, comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a collaborative and trustworthy environment
  • Strategic and hands-on, with a pragmatic approach that balances compliance with business goals

At Eversports, we believe in transparency, so here’s the fine print: the starting salary for this role will be based on a full-time equivalent of EUR 70,000 per year (35 hours/week), and will be adjusted proportionally according to the agreed working hours and your level of experience.
