Your Mission:

Join us as a software engineer on the backend and leave your mark in re-defining how energy traders work! You will have a real impact in shaping our engineering culture and - of course - our platform, assuming responsibility and working on challenging technical problems as well as complex trading systems.

Your Responsibilities / What you’ll do:

Being part of our engineering team, you will:

• Play an important role in planning and executing our feature roadmap. 
• Work on database design and data storage solutions
• Evaluate our platform performance and find scalable solutions
• Collaboratively work on architecture and system design
• Evolve our current tech stack to ensure a modern up-to-date system and ensure efficiency
• Constantly improve and evolve our development workflows
• Mentor and assist less experienced team members
• Work in close collaboration with non-engineering departments, and be part of our cross-functional teams
• Shape new features in their early stage
  
  

Your profile / What you’ll need:

• Degree in computer science, completed training as an IT specialist or comparable knowledge from practical experience
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Experience with database design
• Understanding of software development lifecycle
• General understanding of software patterns
• Very good knowledge of Java, Hibernate, Spring (Boot), relational databases
• Knowledge about the software testing pyramid
• Interest and passion to learn and experiment with new technologies
• A “you build it, you run it”-mentality
• The ability to work autonomously and in a result-oriented way
• Strong written and spoken English skills
• While this is a hybrid role, we particularly value candidates who enjoy collaborating in person at the office regularly.

We especially value if you have: 

• Experience in event-driven architecture
• Experience in Kotlin
• AWS and Infrastructure as Code experience
• A passion to automate routine processes and workflows
