Your mission:

As a Product Data Scientist at enmacc, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our energy trading platform through deep understanding of product data. Reporting to our Chief Product Officer and working closely with our Head of Product, you will proactively identify trends, generate actionable insights, and drive data-informed product decisions. 

You’ll have significant visibility across the organisation and the opportunity to define how we leverage our data to enhance both our product and internal operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated self-starter to make a significant impact and with a lot of growth potential.

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Product Insights Generation: You will dive deep into product usage data to identify key trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, proactively feeding these insights back to the product team.
  • Questionnaire Intelligence: You will leverage data from various customer questionnaires to bring intelligence into the product, potentially personalising user experiences and optimising onboarding.
  • Data-Driven Recommendations: You will analyse large datasets to generate smarter, data-heavy recommendations for product enhancements and new features.
  • Driving Product Decisions: You will work with data and identify trends to inform and drive product decisions, collaborating closely with but not directly as a Product Manager.
  • Technical Data Interaction: You will utilise Python scripts and interact with our data infrastructure to extract, manipulate, and analyse data effectively.
  • Collaboration with Data & BI: You will work closely with the Data & BI team to leverage existing data assets and contribute to the development of our data product within Preset (or similar).
  • Customer-Facing Data Products: You will contribute to the development and iteration of customer-facing data products, potentially incorporating AI.
  • Internal Data Enhancement: You will explore opportunities to utilise our own data more effectively internally to improve processes and gain insights.

 

Who you are:

  • Educational Foundation: You hold a Master's degree or PhD in Business Informatics, Data Science, a quantitative field, or a related technical discipline.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: You are a highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative and can drive projects forward with minimal supervision. You bring your own ideas to the table and don't require constant follow-up.
  • Navigating Ambiguity: You bring experience in a quantitative role navigating highly ambiguous environments, ideally as an early data scientist or product analyst at a hyper-growth product company or research organisation.
  • Analytical Expertise: You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for uncovering insights from data.
  • Technical Proficiency: You are proficient in Python for data analysis (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and have strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Data Visualisation Acumen: You have experience with or a strong aptitude for learning data visualisation tools.
  • Product Interest: You have a genuine interest in product development and how data can be used to enhance user experiences and drive product strategy. You might even have side projects or previous experience related to start-ups.
  • Growth-Oriented: You are eager to learn and grow, with an ambition to potentially build a data science team or move into a product leadership role in the future.
  • Proactive Communicator: You are someone who asks a lot of questions, proactively seeks information, and can clearly communicate your findings and recommendations.
