Senior Management Accountant
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial operations, with direct responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, and supporting the wider business with insightful financial analysis.
You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller and VP of Finance to ensure robust financial processes are maintained, reporting is timely and accurate, and the finance function continues to evolve with the needs of the business. Please note: This is a permanent role and requires you to attend the office, 5 days a week (Mon to Fri, 9am - 6pm) - Based in Euston, London.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
- Month-End Close Ownership: Lead the preparation and review of the month-end close process, including:
- Revenue Recognition in line with applicable accounting standards
- Accrued Liabilities and Prepaid Expenses
- Lease accounting and Fixed Asset depreciation
- Bank reconciliations
- Payroll posting and reconciliation
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform timely and accurate reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Journal Entry Processing: Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
- Cashflow Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, including forecasting, budgeting, and optimizing cash utilization.
- Financial Audit Support: Act as a key contact for external auditors, preparing required schedules, supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Management: Oversee the efficient processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and collections from customers.
- Monthly Financial Reporting and Variance Analysis: Prepare and present detailed monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Conduct thorough variance analysis to explain deviations from budget and forecast.
- Management Accounts Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Cashflow Reporting: Prepare regular cashflow forecasts and provide ongoing analysis to inform decision-making.
- Business Partnering: Build strong working relationships with other departments to support budget management, forecasting and strategic planning.
- Process Implementation & Review: Drive improvements to existing finance processes, systems and internal controls.
- Ad-hoc Support: Provide analytical support and insights for ad-hoc projects and requests from the Financial Controller and VP of Finance, aligned with the needs of the business.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Fully or Part-qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Demonstrated experience in a finance role with ownership of core accounting processes, particularly month-end close.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including accruals, prepayments, and revenue recognition.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders across the business.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Desirable Skills & Experience (not essential):
- Prior experience in the Telehealth industry or a tech/SaaS environment.
- Experience working within or interacting with the NHS.
- Understanding of SaaS reporting metrics (e.g., MRR, ARR, CAC, churn).
- Experience with NetSuite (ERP).
- Proficiency in Tableau or similar BI tools.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate large datasets and extract actionable business insights.
