We are in search for a Payroll & HR Specialist who will be responsible for delivering the full range of payroll transactional processes while also providing practical, solutions-focused payroll advice to both managers and employees. Reporting to our Associate Director of Payroll & Reward, you’ll ensure all payroll operations—including processing, compliance, and reporting—are carried out accurately and efficiently.

As our HR Specialist, you’ll manage core aspects of the employee lifecycle at eMed, from onboarding to offboarding. You’ll also oversee company benefits, assist with employee relations, and support HR systems administration, advisory tasks, and coordination efforts.

You’ll bring solid experience across several HR disciplines—such as HR administration, benefits, payroll, immigration, and employee relations—along with a strong background in working with robust HR programs and systems.

This role is based in our London Head Office a minimum of 3 days per week. We operate Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of payroll-related legislation and ensure compliance with HMRC and other statutory bodies, as well as internal company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all employee data is accurately processed and maintained through proficient use of the payroll system and associated HR systems. These include BambooHR, Paycheck and Service Now.
  • Develop and sustain strong working relationships with Clinical Operations and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to support aligned, professional, and cohesive business operations.
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislative changes and payroll best practices, proactively sharing knowledge to drive continuous service improvement.
  • Create and maintain clear, up-to-date process documentation to reflect any changes in policy, procedures, or legislation.
  • Take ownership of preparing payroll instructions for external vendors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide pragmatic, high-quality advice on all aspects of the employee lifecycle and HR processes at an operational level.
  • Support employee relations administration activities across the organisation, ensuring all documentation and communication is legally compliant and professionally managed.
  • Ensure all employee records and personnel files are accurate, up to date, and maintained with the highest standards of data integrity.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in response to employee and line manager queries, resolving issues efficiently and with a right-first-time mindset.
  • Advise on employee benefits and policy application, offering tailored, discretionary guidance when needed.
  • Manage all transactional activities across the employee lifecycle and identify opportunities for process improvements.

  • Solid understanding of employment and payroll legislation, including Income Tax, National Insurance, Statutory and Occupational Sick Pay, Maternity Pay, and Pension Schemes.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work accurately under pressure.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
