Systems Architect

What you will do:

Within Eleo we take the systems engineering approach for our battery packs developments seriously. The System Architect plays a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of robust battery management systems for our customers. This role involves working closely with other system architects to ensure the application of best practices in system engineering, ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our battery Technologies. In this role you will have a direct impact on these aspects by: 

  • Being responsible for implementing system engineering best practices to battery design and development by working collaboratively with other system architects 
  • Owning and reporting on the status and health of requirements, verifications methods and coverage matrix of the project .
  • Owning and reporting health of d-FMEA and supporting d-FMEA
  • Understanding the different use cases of battery systems in off-highway applications and the requirements and impact on our systems. 
  • Guiding and ensuring the team to follow system engineering standards like INCOSE, and ISO 15288 
  • Training/educating the team on system engineering practices  
  • Contacting all other domains and engineering disciplines to ensure domain development is in line with system engineering practices.
  • Improving our existing development process, templates and tooling based on new standards and best practices.
  • Recognizing and resolving technical risks and emerging problems in time and address them with the team
  • Additionally, you will support the Systems Engineering Team Lead with establishing and reporting clear system engineering metrics. 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of system engineering processes and methodologies.
  • Take ownership and assist system architects to ensure system engineering practices are applied properly and adequately.
  • Own and lead creation and maintenance of system engineering documentation, including requirements, system architectures, verification & validation plans and design documents.
  • Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and integration of system components.
  • Lead the development and implementation of testing procedures to validate product performance and reliability.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing technical feedback and ensuring design integrity.
  • Support the development and maintenance of system models and simulations to predict system performance under various conditions.
  • Ensuring new developed products meet desired design standards and support the team to prepare documentation/testing to proof this.
  • Create FMEA/FTA tools & templates. Educate (system) engineers. Create awareness.
  • Collaborate with Product compliance & safety team for identification of regulatory requirements rt system & function safety. Collect safety evidence and built safety case.
  • Support investigation of incidents to identify root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within a systems engineering discipline and multidisciplinary environments. 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Systems, Mechanical, Electrical
  • Specific systems engineering knowledge on either battery related and/or off-highway construction machinery is a plus.
  • Experienced in the systems engineering principles and best practices, including requirements management, system architectures, interface management, product integration, design verification and validation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Able to explain complex theory efficiently and in a concise manner. Able to present/share their ideas.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  •  Is experienced in applying techniques FMEA, RHA, integration, verification & validation planning, technical risk management, configuration management.
  • Extensive experience on using system engineering software such as JAMA, IBM DOORS, Polarion.
  • (preferred) Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and practices. 
  • Basic project management skills
  • Flexible in switching between different disciplines and viewpoints. 
  • Data management: Applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on acquiring, organizing, protecting and processing data to fulfill systems engineering objectives.
  • Fluent in English both verbally and written.
