The Finance team is a strong and growing part of the business. We’re looking for an individual who can support and challenge us in our journey to take our tax controls to the next level. The Tax Trainee will work within the Finance and Tax team in Finance, supporting the Head of Tax to establish a strong control framework for Ebury.
The Finance and Tax team is responsible for maintaining proper accounting records both locally and at a Group level, including financial and management reporting and regulatory reporting for tax purposes. The role will incorporate establishing and enhancing control measures and identifying opportunities for Ebury to be more efficient and effective.
The Tax Trainee will focus on building a strong relationship between the Accounts Payable Team and other areas of the Ebury business, ensuring all internal reporting requirements are fulfilled, coordination of the preparation and submission of VAT, and other various statutory and regulatory reporting requirements across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
What you’ll do
- Providing support in the preparation of corporation tax reconciliations and filings across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assistance in the preparation of entity and branch workbooks in the completion of local and statutory accounts, which includes posting journal entries to Netsuite.
- Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports.
- Collaborate in the audit process.
- Coordinating with Accounts Payable Team to ensure update and monitoring of VAT codes on Netsuite.
- Monitoring of the base information of clients and suppliers for VAT reporting purposes and coordinating with the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and commercial teams to ensure maintenance of the information.
- Reviewing postings of Accounts Payable Team to ensure coherence with global VAT/GST regulations.
- Assisting in the preparation of VAT reconciliations, and filings across multiple jurisdictions, including coordination of SII reporting in Spain.
What you’ll need
- University degree in Accounting, Business Management, Economics or similar.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and ERP (NetSuite/Oracle, SAP and NAV).
- English (C1), Spanish (C1), other languages are a plus.
- Exposure to corporation tax, VAT accounting and reporting.
- Detail-oriented, professional attitude and highly reliable.
- Strong skills in problem-solving, basic accounting principles, teamwork, documentation, data analysis and multi-tasking.
- Experience working with Netsuite (ERP), and Invoicing systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
