Job Summary:

In the role of MicroStrategy and Tableau Administrator, you will lead the administration and maintenance of MicroStrategy servers from Operating System and MicroStrategy tool perspective. You will also play an important role in capacity planning & monitoring, performance tuning for MicroStrategy infrastructure. You will be needed for defining and implementing the procedures for migration of MicroStrategy application and configuration objects from QA to production. You will also manage users and publish contents to Tableau online Site.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Microstrategy:
  • Hands on experience on Installation, configuration and deployment of MicroStrategy tool and clients.
  • Perform MicroStrategy security and administration for all internal and external users including the creation/modification of MicroStrategy roles, LDAP groups, and user interface portals.
  • Handle the implementation, testing, and documentation of new and updated reporting/configuration packages to be promoted to staging/production environments.
  • Implement patches and other day-to-day MicroStrategy content administration tasks including creating folders/reports/users and migrating reports/folders/users from Dev to QA to Production.
  • Support all MicroStrategy configuration requirements for new clients and client database migrations including working with DBAs to set up and test new data sources used by MicroStrategy, creating new MicroStrategy security roles, and setting up new user security and reporting interfaces for users.
  • Support developers by troubleshooting reporting issues related to MicroStrategy configurations and/or cubes/reports/dashboards.
  • Set up Enterprise Manager and Operations Managers. Also configure monitoring to alert notifications for key performance indicators.
  • Be conversant with the tools in MicroStrategy suite e.g., Developer, Command Manager, Architect, Object Manager, License Manager
  • Experience in Capacity sizing/Planning of MicroStrategy infrastructure components
  • Hands on experience on Windows/Linux/UNIX operating systems.
  • Experience in SQL troubleshooting, report failures, project and Intelligence server level governing settings and their impacts.
  • Hands on experience on Report and Dashboard development.
  • Hands on experience on MicroStrategy SDK environment

 

  • Tableau:
  • In Tableau Server, you will create and manage the site’s users and groups, create projects to organize content on the site, and assign permissions to allow users (groups) to access the content. They also promote and certify content and measure the use of analytics within their site.
  • In Tableau Cloud, you will manage site settings, create projects for organizing content, and delegate responsibilities for administrative tasks. They also promote and certify content and measure the use of analytics within their site.

Prior Experience:

  • 4-6 years’ experience in administering MicroStrategy servers and projects
  • 1-3 years’ experience in managing Tableau online

Skills & Qualities

  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in MicroStrategy Architecture, administration, Support, Server maintenance is required
  • Good hands-on experience with one or more databases such as Oracle, MSSQL or MySQL.
  • Good knowledge of at-least one of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Change Management, project tracking, testing, and requirements tools
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Articulates complex concepts in clear, brief, and easy to understand manner
  • Maintains clear and open communications with project teams members and stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues with remediation recommendations.

Education & Professional Qualifications:

B.S. Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent computer-related education.

Special Work Hours Requirement:

Participate in incident handling and off-hours/weekend maintenance activities, as necessary.
