We are looking for a Sports Data Scientist with a strong mathematical foundation and a passion for sports. In this role, you will design and build real-time odds models that fuel our sportsbook offerings. You will develop algorithms that dynamically calculate market prices based on live inputs, integrate your models with our proprietary sports engine, and collaborate across teams to enhance both performance and profitability. 

Extensive experience with sports mechanics, market dynamics, and betting strategies is essential -this role demands not only technical excellence but also a strategic mindset grounded in the nuances of sports and betting. 

How You’ll Make an Impact:

Model Development & Bet Construction 

• Develop and refine mathematical and statistical models that calculate real-time odds for a wide range of sports events and markets. 

• Create modular and dynamic betting models that adjust prices as games unfold, factoring in sport-specific rules, pace, momentum, and external factors (e.g. injuries, weather). 

• Simulate model behavior to assess risk, exposure, and edge across different market scenarios. 

Data Analysis & Insights 

• Analyze large-scale historical and real-time sports data to uncover trends, patterns, and predictive indicators. 

• Generate actionable insights to guide product innovation, odds tuning, and market behavior. 

• Produce data visualizations, dashboards, and clear reports to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

Algorithm Design & Optimization 

• Design and implement high-performance algorithms for automated market creation, pricing, and risk adjustment. 

• Ensure algorithms are optimized for low-latency performance and can handle high-volume live feeds from multiple sports simultaneously. 

• Continuously evaluate model accuracy and recalibrate based on real-time performance data. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner with engineering teams to deploy models into our sports engine architecture and ensure seamless integration. 

• Work closely with trading, product, and operations teams to validate the business impact and practical application of your models. 

• Support internal teams (marketing, risk, CRM) with statistical expertise and insights where applicable. 

Continuous Learning & Innovation 

• Stay up to date with the latest trends in sports analytics, machine learning, and the betting industry. 

• Benchmark existing models against market performance and proactively improve their accuracy and scalability. 

• Explore innovative ideas such as new market types, alternative pricing mechanisms, or sports behavior prediction based on emerging datasets. 

Who You Are: 

• MSc or PhD in Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field. 

• 3+ years of experience in sports betting, sportsbook analytics, or related modeling roles. 

• Deep familiarity with sports rules, structures, performance indicators, and in-play dynamics — across at least 2-3 major sports (e.g., football, basketball, tennis). 

• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages; experience with statistical libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyMC, etc.). 

• Ability to work with and manipulate large, noisy sports datasets and translate them into well-performing models. 

• Experience integrating models into production-grade, real-time systems.
