Middle Java Engineer

Delasport is an iGaming Software company providing Sports Betting & Online Casino software, and turnkey B2B solutions. Established in 2010, Delasport delivers a one-stop-shop solution of Sports Betting and Online Casino from a White-Label, with a full range of management services to a Plug&Play iFrame and a complete Turnkey. We are looking for the top talents to join our team in R&D centre in Kyiv.
We are looking for a Middle Java Backend Engineer to contribute to the development of our modern, distributed system. You’ll work on extending existing functionality, improving system performance, and delivering reliable backend services. This role is ideal for someone who is growing into greater ownership and wants to deepen their expertise while collaborating in a dynamic environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that support high‑availability applications
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle — implementation, testing, deployment, and support
- Contribute to system optimization efforts focused on performance, reliability, and scalability
- Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, sharing knowledge and following best practices
REQUIREMENTS
- 2–4 years of backend development experience with solid knowledge of Java and object‑oriented programming
- Understanding of design patterns, system architecture fundamentals, and scalable service design
- Experience working with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and familiarity with message‑driven systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Basic experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience writing automated tests (unit and integration)
- Exposure to production systems and willingness to learn how to support high‑load environments
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑changing environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to take responsibility for assigned tasks
- At least Upper-Intermediate English level
