Senior Data & AI Manager - Value Chain (Demand & Assortment Planning)

OUR VALUE CHAIN TEAM IS SEEKING A SENIOR DATA & AI MANAGER BASED IN PARIS OR LILLE

Data Value Chain is a key part of the Value Chain organization at Decathlon. Our mission is to uncover the power of AI and analytics to drive data transformation in order to ensure a state-of-the-art Value Chain at Decathlon.

For that, we have organized this Data unit in sub-domains. The Senior Manager position offered is expected to lead the Demand & Assortment Planning subdomain.

This SM will be in charge of the Demand & Assortment Planning subdomain based. He or she is expected to lead several teams of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, BI Engineers and Data Analysts (in total about 50 resources organized in 4 sub-teams each of them managed by a Data Science Manager reporting to the Data Senior Manager). This is the biggest sub-domain in Decathlon Supply Chain with big initiatives that have impact all across the company. This SM is a Global role. This means he or she has not only the responsibility of organizing the central teams, but also to coordinate Data teams working in Supply Chain across the world in 70+ countries. Due to that, the role involves some travelling (particularly to China, India and other strategic countries for the Supply Chain). In summary, it is a very senior position with high visibility and impact across the company. Location can be decided by the SM between Lille and Paris.

 

YOUR FUTURE IMPACT

  • People management: manage Data Managers
  • Create product roadmaps and subdomain roadmaps
  • Propose new strategies and application of data science for business problem solving
  • Technical leadership on Forecasting and Assortment domain
  • Prepare concrete plans to grow talent in the subdomain, in particular at management level and senior ICs
  • Work closely with Product Director of this subdomain and Group Product Managers of the initiatives
  • Prepare presentations of initiatives and value created for the top level leadership of Decathlon.

 

WHAT YOU BRING 

KEY TECHNICAL SKILLS: 

  • Strong expertise in Data Science and Forecasting. 
  • MSc or Phd in Data Science is required.
  • Excellent research and innovation skills. 
  • Industry acumen in the Supply Chain area for retailing is highly desirable.

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Demonstrable experience in people management 
  • Proactive in helping people to grow, effective mentorship and coaching
  • Strong communication skills - English required
