Engineering Manager Personalised CRM (f/m/d)

Our area owns both the platform to build these solutions as well as the marketing teams to launch always-on campaigns that bring in millions of revenue in incremental sales. We leverage data from the entire Decathlon sports and commerce ecosystem to deliver the most relevant content to each user at their specific point in their journey. This end-to-end setup means we can scale solutions fast from idea to launching the marketing campaigns.

Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be instrumental in building and nurturing high-performing development teams. This includes championing and optimizing agile processes to enable faster, higher-quality feature delivery at scale. You will serve as a central knowledge hub for your domain, empowering multiple squads to effectively achieve their objectives.

  • Develop a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
  • Disseminate and challenge technical strategies within features.
  • Lead technical work streams within features, based on technical strategies.
  • Support individual employees through our managerial rituals (individual interview, mid-year review, annual interview, etc.).
  • Support the teams with their delivery capability (operating cadence)
  • Recruit the technical team according to the needs expressed by the features and in agreement with technical management and product managers.  
  • Support individual employees in the evolution of the company's ecosystem (e.g. training, mentoring).
  • Be responsible for and master feature architectures.
  • Guarantee the implementation of technical orientations
  • Ensure that technical teams comply with Decathlon development standards (quality, security)
  • Ensure technical consistency in features (e.g. choice of tools or languages).
  • Ensure technical features are aligned to business value and work in tandem with Data, Product and business.
  • Actively participate in the community of Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers in order to build a coherent technical strategy within mobile at Decathlon.
  • Use the “Accelerate” principle to ensure responsibility and improve the performance of the delivery.
  • Ensure the teams are compliant with our internal and external standards on quality and security.

What You Need to be Successful

  • 2-4 years experience as a manager
  • Good command of software development best practices (microservices architecture, design patterns, testable code, BDD or TDD).
  • Experience in managing, coaching and mentoring developers to deliver high-quality software on time.
  • You have significant management experience in an agile/devops development environment.
  • You're particularly sensitive to the impact of sports for the values it has enabled you to acquire in your leadership style and the way you lead your teams!
