Cloud Engineering Manager - Service Management & Productivty (f/m/d)

Our Cloud Platform Team is looking for their new Engineering Productivity Manager, based in Amsterdam, Lille or Paris.

The CPE is transversal to all Decathlon areas and countries. It is made up of teams focused on the Developer Experience, the provision of technical infrastructure solutions to accelerate the development and stability/scalability of our applications, platform, networks, observability, FinOps.

Its main objectives are to rationalize the catalog of technical products referenced within the group AND to provide “turnkey” services for the application teams, who will thus be able to concentrate on the development of value-added features. Providing a simplified offer will allow a stronger focus to deepen the use of these. Our target is also to create a common base of expertise in order to facilitate movements and interactions between teams.

Today, the CPE is a Business Unit of nearly 200 people who continue to strengthen and work hand in hand with the teams in each area.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Management:

  • Lead and manage IT service management functions, ensuring that engineering services are delivered with the highest level of reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement service level objectives (SLOs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering services.
  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and improve service metrics, proactively addressing any issues that may impact service quality.
  • Focus on ITIL process improvements and tooling used across the organization.

Developer Experience:

  • Champion a culture of excellence in developer experience, fostering an environment where engineers can thrive and be productive.
  • Work closely with our product teams to understand developer needs and challenges, advocating for improvements that enhance the overall developer experience.
  • Implement initiatives to streamline development workflows, reduce friction, and optimize collaboration across teams.
  • Champion the use of our Internal Developer Platform based on Backstage.
  • Be an ambassador of all work automation, our internal product offerings, and have a passion for improving software development.

Developer Tooling:

  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of developer tools that empower engineering teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our tooling stack remains cutting-edge and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with tool vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to address tooling requirements and resolve any issues.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of leaders and engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team, regularly assessing and optimizing performance.

Budget:

  • Responsible for the annual budget of the group and contribution to the management of the overall domain budget.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering productivity, service management, and developer tooling.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
