About the role

Datavations is seeking a finance professional who goes beyond traditional accounting and budgeting tasks to focus on long-term financial planning, business strategy, and value creation. The role will blend finance expertise with strategic thinking to help guide Datavations’ growth and help shape our future by ensuring financial health.

Responsibilities & skills

Budgeting & Forecasting & Monthly Financial Close (MEC)

• Own the company financial model
• Lead annual and long-range planning process as well as quarterly re-forecasts
• Collaborate with the accounting team on MEC activities
• Internal reporting of variance analyses and KPI performance

Strategic Financial Analysis

• Perform strategic research and provide recommendations based on company vision
• Scenario planning and ROI analysis to support business decisions
• Partner with functional leaders to evaluate investments, cost drivers and operational efficiency opportunities

Reporting & Presentation

• Build, maintain, and improve our KPI Dashboarding that provides insights into how the business performs against benchmarks
• Investor Relations - deliver monthly and quarterly reporting to external stakeholders with clear narratives, actionable insights and compelling visuals. 
• Identify key risks and opportunities
• Deliver ad hoc financial reports and analyses to senior leadership

Transaction Readiness

• Provide end-to-end support on debt/equity transactions
• Create and maintain proper documentation in the company’s virtual data room

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Help teams understand the “why” behind the numbers
• Develop strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth, cost optimization, and operational efficiency
• Partner with the Go-to-market team to help understand conversion rates, sales cycles
• Partner with the R&D team to drive improvements in margins

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years investment banking, private equity or venture capital experience
• At least 1 year of experience working in a start-up environment (ideally 2)
• Understanding of B2B SaaS
• Strong Attention To Detail
• Time management skills and comfort juggling multiple projects/tasks with multiple stakeholders amid deadlines on time sensitive projects
• Master of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Familiarity with ERP systems
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Self-starter
