Marketing Operations Manager

We’re looking for a hands-on Marketing Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and knows how to balance strategic thinking with operational excellence. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys taking ownership, keeping projects on track, and driving results while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

 

What will you do? 💻 

⚙️ Marketing operations (~70%)

  • Manage day-to-day execution across multiple marketing functions:

    • Content strategy & creation (working with internal/external contributors)

    • Social media, especially LinkedIn (company + leadership positioning, education and technical posts, event promotions, employer branding)

    • CRM and marketing automation (campaign setup, tracking, nurturing flows, lead processes)

    • Event planning & management for European events - UK, Nordics, Hungary (from planning and logistics to follow-up and attend if needed)

    • Website management (create and edit landing pages, update content, optimize for conversions, implement SEO/GEO best practices)

    • Analytics & reporting (track, analyze, and report on campaign performance, website traffic, lead generation, and ROI)

  • Oversee on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals delivery.

  • Document and report on campaigns, projects, and marketing initiatives.

 

🗺️ Strategic involvement (~30%)

  • Contribute to marketing strategy and planning discussions.

  • Provide input based on operational insights to improve efficiency, ROI, and brand impact.

  • Support leadership with execution plans that connect marketing to business objectives.

💯 Experience:

Proven track record in marketing management within a startup or scale-up environment, where priorities shift quickly, and adaptability is key.

🧰 Skillset:

  • Strong project management skills with a proven history of consistently meeting deadlines. In an environment where priorities shift swiftly one does not get endless time to execute. We need to be nimble and resourceful. 

  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and marketing sub-functions simultaneously. Our marketing team is small. One-person-small. This means that as the 2nd team member, you'll need to wear multiple hats.  

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Given the size of the organization, you'll get to work directly across all teams and level. Being able to communicate efficiently and build trust is key. 

  • A creative yet structured approach to content, social media, and campaign execution.

  • Hands-on knowledge of CRM systems, marketing automation tools, website management (basic CMS editing, landing page creation, SEO), and analytics tools (Google Analytics, LinkedIn analytics, CRM dashboards, etc.)

  • BONUS: Understanding of the consulting (PS) business model. PS marketing is very different from product or SaaS marketing (e.g., longer sales cycles, complex stakeholders, and thought leadership–driven demand generation), so getting a head start would be a great bonus.

What will the selection process look like? ✅ 

  • Screening Interview (~45 minutes). Our recruiter will run it. The purpose is to get to know you better and assess how you match the role's core requirements. This is also your chance to learn more about DATAPAO and our business model. 

  • Take-home Assignment. The scope is to assess your ability to plan and execute concrete marketing tasks, as the ones you'll own in real-life. 
  • Core Skills Interview (~75 minutes). This round will be run by our senior marketing manager. We will assess your marketing fundamentals and discuss your professional background. You will also go through a couple of marketing scenarios and discuss how you would handle them.

  • Cultural Interview (~45 minutes). Our Head of People will run this stage. The scope is to assess the likelihood of settling well into our community.

The gross salary for this position ranges from 1.200.000 - 1.500.000 HUF/month, depending on your assessed seniority during the selection process.
