Senior Sales Account Manager
At DATAPAO, data ignites passion, community fuels collaboration, and growth knows no bounds. We are a Databricks-backed data engineering & AI consulting company recognized by our customers for world-class delivery, training, and enablement. We have been named Databricks 2024 EMEA Emerging Business Partner of the Year and have achieved a second consecutive appearance on the Financial Times FT1000 list.
We’re hiring our first UK-based Account Manager to drive services sales through our strategic partnership with Databricks. You’ll own the sales cycle for our customers, generate a pipeline through co-selling and events, and work closely with Databricks field teams and our internal delivery experts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a consultative, partner-led environment and wants to help shape DATAPAO’s presence in the UK.
🤷♂️ What will you do?
Own the end-to-end sales cycle for commercial customers (normally, but not limited to <$1B revenue, <1000 employees)
-
Drive pipeline generation through our strategic partnership with Databricks, working closely with their Account Executives to identify and activate service opportunities.
-
Lead early-stage sales motions: run discovery calls, qualify needs, position DATAPAO’s capabilities, and ensure smooth transitions to delivery and technical teams.
-
Coordinate teams virtually: Sales Engineers, Delivery Leads, and other stakeholders — to align on opportunity strategy and execution.
-
Organize and execute lead-generation activities: workshops, roundtables, and webinars, collaborating with Databricks and aligning with key accounts.
-
Act as a trusted point of contact for Databricks field teams and customer stakeholders, building long-term relationships across active and emerging accounts.
🚀 What will you bring?
Must-Have
-
Trusted Advisor mindset – You ask the right questions, understand customer pain points, and position service-based solutions tailored to real needs. You guide the customer toward their interest when their solution/approach is not optimal.
-
Willingness to lead – You proactively lead your team and drive sales forward. You don’t wait until you can take an order. You actively drive sales.
-
Customer orientation – You drive value for the customer and help them discover and solve their (real) problems.
-
Partner relationship management – Proven ability to build trust and maintain visibility with partner AEs, SEs, and field teams.
-
Commercial acumen – Understands time & materials vs. fixed price models and how to navigate discounts and partner-influenced commercial expectations.
-
Scalable knowledge – You can easily transfer your know-how and ways of working to new areas.
-
Sociability – You feel comfortable getting in touch w/o an introduction with new stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have
-
Experience with event-driven lead generation – Background in planning or supporting workshops, roundtables, or webinars as part of pipeline development.
-
Experience with Databricks or similar partners – Familiarity with the Databricks partner ecosystem or co-selling models within cloud/data platforms.
-
Executive presence – Confident in presenting to senior stakeholders and able to steer conversations in high-pressure or high-stakes settings.
-
Storytelling and narrative building – Able to craft and deliver compelling stories that connect DATAPAO’s services to business outcomes. Ability to successfully move complex deals forward by aligning stakeholders across organizations, even when you aren’t the formal lead.
✅ What will the selection process look like?
-
Screening Interview (~45 minutes). Our Head of People will run it. The purpose is to understand your motivation and background better and assess how you match the role's core requirements.
-
Take-home Assignment. The purpose is to probe your ability to identify customer problems based on a given organizational context and make tailor-made recommendations to solve them.
-
Panel Presentation (~90 minutes). During this round, you will discuss with our Head of Sales and an external consultant your take-home assignment submission and possibly engage in a customer role-playing exercise to assess the critical skills you'll need to thrive in this role.
-
Cultural Fit Interview (~60 minutes). Our Head of People and/or CEO will run it. The purpose is to assess the likelihood of easily settling into our community.
🎯 How will we measure success in this role?
Making an impact in this role will be a function of:
- Lead Generation
- Pipeline generation
- Delivered Revenue
- Partnership development
The weight of these factors in the final evaluation will be co-created with the Head of Sales upon joining.
💰 Total Compensation
Depending on your experience and seniority level assessed through the selection process, the total gross compensation for this role can go up to £150.000 per year, and will be structured along two components as follows:
- Base salary (fixed) - represents ~60% of the total compensation
- Sales incentive (variable) - represents ~40% of the total compensation
The exact ratios and the composition of the variable part will be co-created with the Head of Sales upon joining.
🍯 What do we offer?
You'll have the rare opportunity to join DATAPAO at a time when you can still meaningfully impact our growth trajectory and organizational success. Furthermore, as one of our first-ever UK hires, you’ll help shape DATAPAO’s presence in the UK.
Surely, we know everyone needs a little something to do their best work. Here is a list of some other extras we offer:
- The chance to work remotely - as we don't have a physical office in the UK yet, we offer a fully remote setup for the time being. However, given our strong community emphasis, we'd expect you to spend some time in our Budapest hub during onboarding and on a quarterly basis afterward;
- Flexible PTO days - we’re flexible with how many days you take off if that does not conflict with customer success and the work getting done;
- 4 weeks of paternity leave (if applicable) - because we think it’s important for both parents to be there when it matters the most;
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - life always happens! And we'd like to be there for you when it counts the most. Through EAP, we offer our employees access to psychology, financial, and legal consulting services via phone or in person;
- Pension scheme enrollment and a comprehensive private health insurance plan - offered via our EOR (Employer of Record) provider, Remote.com. Remote will be your official employer in the UK for the foreseeable future until we establish our own legal entity in the UK;
- Top-notch working equipment - working comfortably means working well. You will get a MacBook Pro, a phone, and a sign-up bonus of 500 GBP gross (to be paid with your first payroll) to set up your home office or whatever else is needed to give your best;
- The chance to make an impact in a high-transparency culture - open feedback and no politics are things we value a lot at DATAPAO. Additionally, you'll get the chance to work in the field of data & AI and shape the future of a rapidly growing tech company.
Given that we are still sorting our ways out in the UK, this list will likely get an update in the following months, and we're also committed to growing it with us over time.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that currently we are unable to support transfer or offer full sponsorship for Skilled Worker visas as we’re just setting foot into the UK.
