Technical Project Manager
At DATAPAO, data ignites passion, community fuels collaboration, and growth knows no bounds. We are a leading Data Engineering and Data Science consulting company, recognized for our innovation and rapid growth. We have been named Databricks EMEA Emerging Business Partner of the Year and have achieved a second consecutive appearance on the Financial Times FT1000 list.
We are currently looking for a well-seasoned Technical Project Manager to join the Operations & Delivery Excellence Team and contribute to building and scaling up our Professional Services operations function.
What exactly will you do?
You would primarily own, lead, and manage big data, cloud engineering, and machine learning projects for our EMEA customers, while also being involved in internal process and content development. Besides direct DATAPAO customers, you'll drive projects within the Databricks partnership setup (our most important partnership) and drive one of our top revenue lines under this umbrella.
More precisely, you will:
-
Lead end-to-end customer projects, ensuring a seamless experience from sales closure to project wrap-up. This involves, among others, handling customer inquiries, managing escalations, and identifying opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and drive account value.
-
Ensure that project objectives, deadlines, and budget are met for a complex customer portfolio. This involves, but is not limited to, coordinating customer interactions, documenting and administering the definition of project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource allocation in collaboration with other internal teams, such as Sales, Engineering, and AI.
-
Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve customer issues and complaints, and escalate complex cases as needed in a timely manner.
-
Initiate and drive cross-functional internal projects to improve our efficiency in delivery or the customer experience.
-
Champion a customer-centric culture within DATAPAO and promote a customer-first mindset among engineers and peers.
-
Ensure compliance with project management standards, methodologies, and best practices.
What does it take to fit the bill?
-
Proven track record with project management and CRM tools/methods (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, SFDC, Productive, Asana, Google Sheets, and Slides).
-
Proven experience in managing large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders, regions, and functions (e.g., data migrations or enterprise-level transformations).
-
Strong interpersonal skills, meaning that you can build relationships and trust across all levels and audience types.
-
You're results-driven and committed to high-quality service. At DATAPAO, we practice an outcome-driven mindset and believe world-class consulting can only be achieved through striving for excellence in everything we do.
-
You can prioritize (under pressure) between concurrent requests and projects, are highly independent in your work, and bring in a solution-driven mindset. These traits are must-haves for this role and at this seniority level.
-
You're particularly good at conflict resolution, rallying various parties toward a common goal, and pivoting on the go. After all, this is a relationship business that moves with high velocity.
-
You're passionate about delivering enviable customer experiences, are highly organized, and possess good attention to detail.
-
Fluency in written and verbal English (acquired, preferably, by working with a Western European client base)
What do we offer?
-
Flexible PTO and office days: We’re flexible about how many days you take off if it does not conflict with customer success, company goals, and the work getting done. Additionally, it is up to you which days you spend in the office. However, as a project manager who regularly and closely works with other teams, we’d expect you to spend at least some face-to-face time weekly in the office.
-
30 Calendar Days of Paternity Leave (if applicable): We think it’s essential for both parents to be there when it matters the most.
-
Private Medical Insurance: We provide a private medical package via Generali.
-
Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Through EAP, we offer our employees access to psychological, financial, and legal consulting services via phone or in person.
-
Educational benefits: There’s no shortage of learning opportunities at DATAPAO, meaning that you'll get access to courses and training relevant to your role, dedicated time for growth, and access to our internal library.
-
Top-notch working equipment: Working comfortably means working well, therefore, you will get a MacBook, a Herman Miller office chair, standing desks in the office, and whatever else is needed to give your best.
-
The chance to make an impact in a high-transparency culture: Open feedback and a no-politics environment are things we value a lot at DATAPAO. Additionally, you'll get the chance to shape the future of a rapidly growing tech company, to work with cutting-edge technologies, and to help some of the biggest and most innovative companies in the world sort out their data puzzles.
-
A cozy and modern office in the heart of Budapest: Located in a vibrant, central part of the city (Opera/Oktogon), it's designed to foster focus, creativity, and team connection. You'll find open spaces for group work, quiet corners for deep thinking, and plenty of natural light. It’s well-stocked with snacks, drinks, coffee, and beverages. Optional Friday evening beers, movie, and wine-tasting nights with the team are also on us!
For this role, our gross monthly salary ranges from 1.200.000 to 1.800.000 HUF, depending on your assessed seniority level during selection.
