Senior Marketing Manager

At DATAPAO, we are on a mission: to make data work. In doing so, we are building a one-of-a-kind Data Engineering and Data Science consulting company covering the full data journey - from enablement, through architecture, to implementation. But don't just take our word for it.

We are now looking for a well-versed Senior Marketing Manager to establish our Marketing function and drive our mission and growth.

Organizational context

The Senior Marketing Manager will report directly to the CEO in a "stand-alone" setup. This means that you will own, oversee, and drive all marketing efforts in DATAPAO while also helping us to establish the function on solid foundations.

Because this is no small feat for one person, and we don't believe in unicorns, you'll have an external copywriter, graphic designer, and an AV specialist assisting you. We'll also rely on you to understand what other type of help we need or what our next marketing hire should be.

While we don't like to make promises, we'd likely be looking over the next 12-18 months into scaling up a small marketing team around the person we'll hire now.

What will you do?

As you'll operate in a stand-alone team setup, we expect you to be close to a full-stack marketer or at least open to touching things across all marketing streams. Hence, your impact and responsibilities in this role will span across the following dimensions:

Content

  • Organize thematic webinars. These are 30 to 90-minute webinars for technical or business audiences. You'll get support from our experts for the technical content part and have a studio to make the webinars happen. You'll own the full process from campaign management to registration and CRM setup. Some webinar examples:

  • Content creation. You'll need to write and review social media content, hooks, introductions, and CTAs for webinars, thought leadership assets, and marketing collaterals (e.g., one-pagers, flyers, landing pages), among other things.

  • Manage and enhance our social media presence. You will own and drive our LinkedIn channel and potentially establish our presence on other social media platforms. This means you'd help us define relevant personas, coordinate content creation, and manage distribution. We aim to publish content regularly on the selected platform and establish ourselves as thought leadership creators over time.

Events Management

  • Coordinate on-site events presence. We sponsor and organize events in various European countries, mainly the UK, Germany, and Hungary. We'd expect you to manage these projects, from coordinating partners, vendors, and internal teams to creating marketing assets (e.g., videos, flyers, roll-ups, etc.) to support our event presence.

Marketing Stack

  • Own the marketing stack. This now includes Hubspot, Google Analytics, Zoom, SEMRush, Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, WordPress, and Zoominfo.

  • Manage our website revamp. Our current website does not match our growth ambitions and the high-quality standards we try to live by in DATAPAO. It needs a revamp, and we'd like you to coordinate the effort from one end to another.

Vendors Management

  • Coordinate our vendor suite. We work with multiple vendors, such as graphic designers, audio-video editors, and copywriters. While the Finance team will manage the payments, you will be the SPOC for all our marketing vendors.

  • Communication, PR, and Employer Branding. On a few occasions, you'll need to send out press releases, organize interviews, and coordinate PR events. Here and there, you'll also work with our Employer Branding guru on brand awareness initiatives (e.g., recruitment-related social media campaigns, events, etc.).

[Bonus]: Marketing Strategy

DATAPAO has a clear vision and strategy for where we want to be five years from now, but we don’t have a matching marketing strategy. If building one excites you, then this role is a great opportunity to do just that.

This is not a mandatory requirement of the role but rather a rare opportunity to make a disproportionate impact on DATAPAO's marketing strategy and  ICP definition. Furthermore, you'll get to work directly with the Leadership Team on this dimension.

How will we measure success in this role?

For the foreseeable future, the following aspects will weigh heavily in assessing one's impact in this role:

  • Audience and engagement growth on social channels
  • Website visitors
  • Support of sales operations

You'll also have a set of objectives to work towards every six months. These will be aligned with our short and medium-term organizational needs. Achieving these objectives or falling short will impact your evaluation within our performance cycles.

What does it take to fit the bill?

We'd expect you to bring in the following skill set:

  • Strong background in copywriting (short and long form) and/or with managing and briefing external copyright contractors.

  • Experience with creating short-form content (e.g., social media posts for various platforms) and owning social media content calendars.

  • Proven track record in organizing thematic webinars and/or events.

  • Relationship builder mindset - meaning that you're able to build collaboration across all teams and organizational levels. Past experience in working closely and collaborating with engineering teams is a plus.

  • Managed external vendors across different marketing work streams.

  • Background with our marketing tooling suite or other similar tools.

  • [Bonus]: Experience with defining ICPs and defining company-wide marketing strategies (preferably with a B2B focus).

While we'd like to see you mastering all the above skills, don’t worry if you don't tick every box. If you tick enough, have a strong work ethic, and are keen to scale a top-notch marketing function, then you’ll fit right in.

What will the selection process look like?

At a high level, you can expect the following selection flow for this role:

  • Screening Interview (~45 min) - run by our Head of People. The focus will be on getting to understand your drivers and professional background better.

  • Take-home Study Case - simulating real-world challenges you'll likely face in the role

  • Core Skills Screening (~60 min) - run by our CEO. The focus is will be on checking your marketing background, areas of expertise, and business acumen.

  • Core Skills Interview (~60 min) - run by an external consultant. The aim is to dive deep into your marketing expertise for a few skills that would be critical in this role.

  • Meet the team (~45 min) - Informal chat with some Paoneers you'll work closely with. If you're an international candidate we'd be open to fly you over to Budapest with this occasion.

What do we offer?

You'll get the rare opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our success as an organization. As a stand-alone marketer, you’ll have the freedom and empowerment to scale the marketing function and, in doing so, accelerate DATAPAO's growth trajectory.

Surely, we know everyone needs a little something to do their best work. So here is a list of some other extras we offer:

  • Flexible working hours and PTO days. We don’t care when you start or finish or how much time off you take. We care about getting the work done and having your marketing house in order.

  • Medicover Blue private medical insurance.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - life always happens! And we'd like to be there for you when it counts the most. We offer our employees access via phone or in-person to psychology, financial, and legal consulting services.

  • 4 weeks of paternity leave (if applicable) - as we think it’s important for both parents to be there when it matters the most.

  • Company library - we believe in continuous learning and provide a company library to nudge that. If we don’t have something in our store, just let us know, and we will order it.

  • Best equipment available - a top-notch MacBook Pro, Herman Miller Embody or Aeron chair, a standing desk, and a 4K monitor in the office.

  • A no BS, transparent culture, and the chance to grow the team with us.

  • A bi-yearly all-company team building. Snacks, drinks, coffee, beverages, and other ad-hoc community events are also on the house.

Our gross salary range for the role is 1,500,000 to 2,000,000 HUF/month, depending on your assessed seniority level during the selection process
