Open faculty positions
Constructor Institute of Technology (CIT) invites applications for multiple tenure-track or tenured faculty positions beginning Spring 2025. Positions are available at all levels (assistant, associate, full professor) depending on the qualifications of the applicants.
About CIT
Constructor Institute of Technology (CIT), established in 2019 (under the initial name Schaffhausen Institute of Technology) is a higher-education and research institution based in Schaffhausen (Switzerland).
CIT has several research chairs in software engineering, quantum informatics and (in collaboration with the University of Geneva) quantum technologies, with about 15 researchers (PhD students and postdocs). CIT offers two master programs, “Computer Science, Software Engineering and Leadership” (with two classes already graduated) and “Quantum Software Engineering in Computer Science”.
CIT maintains a close collaboration with Constructor University Bremen, another research-led university based in Bremen, Germany (formerly Jacobs University Bremen), and with a network of organizations devoted to education, educational technologies, autonomous robots, technology transfer and innovation funding in the Constructor Group. Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses, pursue advanced research, apply for external funding and participate in all aspects of CIT’s mission. CIT applies the rules and scientific standards of top-level research-led universities.
Required qualifications
Applicants must have received a PhD in computer science or a related field by the start date of the position, and should have demonstrated potential for excellence and productivity in research, and a commitment to high-quality teaching.
Applicants in all areas of computer science will be given serious consideration. We are particularly interested in candidates in the areas of software engineering, quantum computing, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Successful applicants will be provided with resources to pursue their research and fill positions for PhD students and postdocs. Salary levels are in line with the Swiss university system.
