Head of CTO Office

Munich | Hybrid

Job description

Our Mission

At constellr, we're harnessing the power of space to solve one of Earth’s greatest challenges: climate resilience & security in a changing world. Our thermal satellite constellation delivers the most accurate land surface temperature data on the market, equipping commercial players, governments, defence agencies, and global institutions with the thermal intelligence they need to make strategic decisions– from national security and infrastructure to agriculture and climate resilience.

As a fast-scaling company with offices in Brussels, Freiburg, Munich, Washington and Toulouse, our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and strategists is building the future of space-based Earth observation

Your Role

Earth observation is entering a new paradigm. For decades, satellite data meant looking into the past: scenes captured days or weeks ago, retrieved from an archive. We are turning it into a live signal: near real time insights derived from space-based sensors that arrive while it still matters, informing decisions where seconds count.

As Head of CTO Office you are a force multiplier and advisor to the CTO. You own a portfolio of the tech organisation's strategic initiatives end to end: you take ambiguous, high priority mandates and return finished outcomes. You sit at the intersection of strategy, org design and executive communication. You represent the CTO in cross functional working sessions and steering meetings, prepare  decisions, and track them until they are executed.

Own the operating cadence of the CTO organisation: Mgmt Communication, leadership planning, meeting cadence, executive calendar and decision tracking, automating wherever possible.

Key responsibilities

  • Translate the CTO's strategic priorities into observable plans and track execution with the company success as top priority.
  • Own a portfolio of strategic initiatives from inception to completion, maintaining clear ownership, visibility and momentum across all workstreams.
  • Partner with the CTO and her VPs on organisation plans: quarterly and annual strategy, staffing and development plans. Co-lead org design and change management: reorg rollout, communication, offsite design.
  • Condense and visualise: turn sprawling topics into one pagers, and complex structures into visuals that make decisions obvious. Board inputs, talks, exec material, leadership updates. Stress test the thinking before it leaves the office.
  • Run the leadership cadence: agenda setting, decision tracking, follow through, escalation of blockers.
  • Bring independent, unbiased insight from the ground: make connections across the organisation others do not see, and question whether initiatives still match the strategy.
  • Your success is measured by the leverage you create. You help the CTO focus on the highest-impact decisions by bringing clarity, structure and momentum to the technology organisation

Job requirements

About you

  • 3–6 years of experience in management consulting, Chief of Staff roles, strategic communications, or similar positions that required strong analytical thinking and the ability to quickly turn complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, e.g. gained through programs like TUM CDTM or similar
  • Great at visual storytelling: you make an org chart, a roadmap or a decision readable in one look, and you enjoy building slides that people remember.
  • You keep track of many initiatives in parallel without losing detail, and everyone around you trusts your overview.
  • You turn twenty pages into one, a debate into three options, a month of work into five minutes of exec time.
  • You have driven change in real organisations and know that change management is stakeholder and people work.
  • You build trust quickly, exercise sound judgment, and are comfortable handling highly confidential topics with professionalism and discretion.
  • Professional English is required. German is an advantage.

Why join constellr?

  • High-Impact National Security Mission: Be part of an ambitious mission to launch the world’s first commercial thermal infrared constellation, delivering sovereign-grade "behavioural" intelligence from space to close critical blind spots for defence, intelligence, and maritime surveillance agencies.
  • Fast-Paced "New Space" Innovation: Work at the leading edge of a rapidly evolving defence sector. By leveraging modern, agile New Space methodologies, you will help design, build, and deploy dual-use thermal payloads into operational orbit at a speed and scale that traditional aerospace models simply cannot match.
  • Broad Interdisciplinary Exposure: Accelerate your professional growth by collaborating daily with a diverse, international cohort of astrophysicists, software developers, and defence-system engineers.
  • Inclusive & Scientific Culture: Join a high-trust team deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and scientific excellence, where academic curiosity is paired with high autonomy and a flat hierarchy.
  • Financial Upside & Well-being: Benefit from a Virtual Share Option Plan (VSOP) for permanent employees, giving you a true stake in the company's growth, alongside highly flexible hybrid working models.
