We are currently in phase 3 for TRD, have completed phase 2 studies for both post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anorexia nervosa and are planning a further late-stage study in PTSD. Job overview:  

The Financial Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting. This hands-on, technically focused role maintains balance sheet accounts and supports the Director, External Reporting and Senior Director, Controller with consolidated financial reporting and disclosure requirements across UK and US operations.

Location: Hybrid with Tuesday and Thursday in our Soho, London office. 

Reports to: Director, Financial Controller.

Roles and responsibilities 
(Include but are not limited to): 

• Responsible for month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings (accruals, intercompany transactions, prepayments), and analytical reviews.
• Support the preparation of quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) reporting under US GAAP, including audit schedules and documentation.
• Assist with accounting and reporting for share-based payments, lease obligations, and deferred tax calculations.
• Prepare monthly US GAAP management reporting and annual IFRS statutory financial statements.
• Support tax compliance processes across UK and US jurisdictions.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of financial controls and processes, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
• Undertake ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong academic background, with a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CA).
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge with experience in US GAAP and IFRS.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and take ownership of deliverables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across time zones and functions.
• Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating within a high-growth, organisation.
