Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research - RWE Strategy

Job overview:
We are seeking an experienced professional to shape and drive our crucial Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) strategies. You will be accountable for developing and executing impactful evidence generation plans, working collaboratively across our teams. This key role involves interpreting complex data, building strategic partnerships, and effectively communicating the value of our innovative treatments, with an initial focus on treatment-resistant depression.
Location: Hybrid in our NYC office or home based on the East Coast, US.
Reports to: The Real World Evidence Strategy Lead will report to the Vice President, Value and Outcomes Research on the Patient Access Team.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Accountability for the development and execution of RWE strategy in collaboration with the Principal Data Science and Epidemiology
- Directs, develops, organizes, and implements the HEOR and RWE plans with functional management and cross functional team to support the initial indication in treatment resistant depression (TRD)
- Responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of observational analyses for characterization of patient populations and outcomes, benefit and risk assessments, and patient-level prediction
- Critically appraising the changing scientific and commercial environment and synthesizing pertinent information into actionable and impactful evidence strategies and plans to support articulation of a product’s clinical and economic value as a direct contribution to preparation for pre and peri-launch activities
- Providing HEOR and RWE input to clinical strategy/medical plans, payer-related evidence plans, and regulatory strategies
- Identify research study needs, design observational database analyses, including authoring proposals, protocols and analysis plans; which includes evaluating evidence gaps in economic modelling efforts and collaborating on evidence solutions
- Review and interpret study results from analysis of real-world evidence (RWE) and observational healthcare databases to develop a clinical understanding, present these results to clinical teams, and disseminate scientific information through writing technical reports and peer-reviewed publications
- Build robust external partnerships as needed and manage internal strategic collaborations that currently exist for Compass
- Effectively communicate impactful research to diverse audiences
- Publish and present impactful research at scientific conferences and forums
- Partner effectively with internal stakeholders to shape research partnerships and disseminate HEOR findings
- Fostering collaborative relationships with expert investigators in external academic institutions and research organizations and with internal stakeholders
- Prioritizing research activities, resources, and focus in the face of rapidly evolving product timelines and competitor landscape in relation with RWE and HEOR
- Ensure inclusion and capturing of patient perspective where applicable
Candidate Profile:
- Doctoral/Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., health economics, outcomes research, health services research, epidemiology, health economics, health policy or related fields)
- Experience leading and completing multiple representative RWE projects in any of the following areas: consulting, and/or biotech, device, or pharmaceutical industry is required
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the design, conduct and analysis of observational research (retrospective and prospective) pre- and post-approval
- Deep knowledge of US healthcare financing and delivery systems, US payer environment, and competitive landscape is preferred
- Experience working directly in the life sciences industry in outcomes research or epidemiology in the US is strongly preferred. Experience in neuroscience and psychiatry, is a plus
- Expert research and analysis skills and a track record of scientific publications. Ability to work effectively, independently, and in a matrix team environment
- Understanding of and participation in RWE and HEOR industry and academic consortia preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Will work on projects of diverse scope and complexity as a skilled specialist with advanced theoretical knowledge and practical training. Expected to exercise independent judgment within generally defined practices, guidance, and policies
- Should be highly motivated and work well with minimal supervision
【For NYC】Compensation Description (annually):
Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognise employees for their work and any role at Compass, regardless of the location, is eligible for additional discretionary bonuses and equity.

$200,000 - $275,000 USD
