Procurement Manager Ocean Freight

This role can be pursued either from our Zurich office or our headquarters in Wollerau.

Responsibilities: 

• Be the main point of contact between internal teams (Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sales) and external partners like Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders, and Government Bodies.
• Consolidate import and export demand plans across business units and negotiate favorable spot buying rates.
• Minimize detention and demurrage costs by securing discounts for idle containers.
• Optimize space utilization on various freight contracts, including Spot, VIP, and long-term agreements.
• Track and report on freight trends, service levels, and cost-saving measures.
• Proactively renew service contracts and manage credit terms before they expire.

Requirements: 

• Extensive experience in ocean freight procurement, working with carriers, freight forwarders, or BCOs. 

• Advanced excel skills for data analysis and strong commercial acumen. 

• Strong knowledge of shipping processes, tender analysis and Incoterms. 

• Experience navigating port operations, customs documentation, and freight movements. 

• The ability to work across different geographies and cultures. 
• Fluent English is a must; German skills and other languages are a plus.
