How You Will Demonstrate Ownership

We are seeking a qualified accounting professional with 2–3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and Travel & Expense (T&E) within the Indian business landscape. This role entails managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations (including GST), and supporting month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS).
  • Prepare and post revenue-related journal entries and accruals.
  • Maintain deferred revenue schedules and perform reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain AR aging reports and oversee cash application.

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process vendor invoices with a focus on GST & TDS compliance.
  • Manage vendor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Monitor AP aging to ensure timely payments.
  • Assist during internal and statutory audits.

Travel & Expense (T&E)

  • Review employee expense claims in accordance with company policy and Indian regulatory requirements.
  • Process reimbursements and address employee inquiries.
  • Identify non-compliant expenses and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage corporate card reconciliations.

The Impact You Bring to Cognite

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce/finance (B. Com / M. Com / MBA Finance).
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounting within India.
  • Basic understanding of:
    • GST (Input Tax Credit, invoicing compliance)
    • TDS provisions
    • Fundamentals of Ind AS
  • Experience with financial systems (NetSuite, Expensify, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in shared services or a multinational environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
