How you’ll demonstrate Ownership
We are seeking a strong IT Operations Manager to lead, transform, and grow our internal IT operations and on-site support team. This is a key leadership role at a rapidly scaling global tech company, responsible for smooth, secure, and highly efficient IT operations across our global footprint.
- Lead a global team responsible for Cognite’s internal IT support, including service desk and on-site support.
- Lead and manage Cognite’s global IT support team, including service desk and on-site support.
- Act as a key stakeholder and driver for efficiency, spearheading initiatives to increase automation and streamline processes.
- Manage vendor relationships for IT support services.
- Develop and implement sound policies and principles that balance cost, performance, and user experience.
- Oversee ticketing systems (Jira), inventories, and task flows for maximum efficiency.
- Ensure effective task distribution and dispatching to meet internal SLAs.
- Foster collaboration across IT Support, IT Security, and Infrastructure teams.
Scope of IT Support at Cognite
- Supporting 700+ IT users globally (and growing).
- Providing onsite support in key locations: Oslo, Phoenix, Houston and Bangalore.
- Delivering remote support for other locations (e.g., Japan).
- Contributing to governance of 100+ SaaS applications and infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
- Managing 100+ hybrid-enabled meeting rooms.
- Operating in a modern environment with no traditional server infrastructure.
- Supporting a diverse user base: 70%+ Mac, 5% Linux, 25% Windows.

The Impact you bring to Cognite
- Strong experience in IT operations management and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of IT support processes, automation, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (Jira) and CMDB.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.
Your technical skills and experience makes you able to
- comfortably and consistently manage the entire lifecycle of assigned tasks and processes: analyzes, process design, execution and continuous improvement.
