Manager, Accounting

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and review all general ledger postings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead the monthly and year-end closing processes, and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Manage and process Armenian payroll, including statutory deductions and reporting, ensuring compliance with local regulations. 
  • Supervise vendor relationships, review invoices, and ensure timely payments and reconciliations. 
  • Coordinate and reconcile transactions with cross-border entities, maintaining accuracy and transparency. 
  • Prepare and submit Armenian statutory and tax reports in accordance with regulatory requirements. 
  • Utilize and optimize ERP systems to streamline accounting processes and reporting. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the local accounting team, helping to build out a shared service center accounting team by promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. 
  • Serve as the go-to finance contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and support for all finance-related matters in Armenia. 

Education and Experience:

  • Fluency in both English and Armenian (spoken and written). 
  • Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. 
  • Demonstrated experience processing Armenian payroll and handling related statutory requirements. 
  • 7+ years of progressive professional experience including experience as an Accounting Manager, including leading and developing accounting teams. 
  • Hands-on experience with global large-scale ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics or similar). 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Armenian statutory and tax reporting requirements. 
  • Experience working with cross-border entities and managing intercompany transactions. 
  • Flexibility and willingness to accommodate international time zones for cross-border collaboration. 
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership for all financial activities within the Armenian entity. 
  • Relevant professional certifications are highly preferred (e.g. CPA/ACCA).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics ERP platform is preferred.
  • Industry experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) and/or professional services in the health sector is preferred.
