We are seeking an accomplished Senior Engineering Manager to join our D.One business line within ClearScore group. You would be leading the CategoryOne squad in building out open banking products to support ClearScore UK and also a range of B2B external lenders and other partners.

What you will be doing:
- Reporting to the Head of Engineering and working as part of a triad with a product manager and designer to lead a cross-functional squad.
- Line managing a team of cross functional engineers.
- Owning hiring & onboarding for your team and actively drive their personal growth & development.
- Operating flexibly within the team to deliver value which could include unblocking, resolving debates or contributing directly.
- Holding the squad to account for execution and delivery of value to users and partners, ensuring continual improvement of your squad’s effectiveness.
- Setting the engineering strategy for the squad and use your knowledge of modern agile practices for the effective delivery of outputs and outcomes.
- Coordinating communication with stakeholders from different teams, enabling engineers to concentrate on their optimal performance.
- Working together with the broader engineering team to actively participate in shaping company-wide managerial and technical best practices and standards.
- Fostering a high-functioning team dynamic with common goals and collaborative work across functions.
Skills we'd love you to have:
- Leadership experience managing high performing teams of up to 7 engineers, fostering a culture of psychological safety.
- The ability to flexibly switch between hands-on technical involvement and strategic thinking. With the ability to input, understand and challenge engineering decisions - but to empower the team to make those decisions themselves.
- Comfortable working within ambiguous problem areas with a high degree of autonomy.
- Expert understanding of modern agile practices to drive outcomes and outputs, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- An iterative and experimentation mindset to be able to optimise outcomes.
- Robust technical and operational knowledge of the latest industry technologies and best practices to ensure that platforms are properly monitored and running smoothly in a “you build it, you run it” environment.
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality solutions that meet or exceed business requirements, with a strong emphasis on production readiness, robustness, and operational excellence.
- The ability to communicate openly and deliver feedback to people at different levels.

What is D·One?
D·One was created in 2022 as a result of ClearScore’s acquisition of Money Dashboard - a company with best in class open banking and categorisation capabilities. The D·One mission exists to provide open banking data to lending partners, market researchers including hedge funds and ClearScore. Currently, our primary goal is enabling lenders to adopt open banking by delivering a lender specific open banking service with best-in-class credit analytics.
