About the team

As an Associate Systems Administrator – Atlassian with Certara, you are part of a global, fast-paced IT organization with the primary mission to provide capable & resilient world class services to professional services, software, and corporate business units ensuring our teams have the tools and support needed to operate at peak performance in service of our customers.

The Associate Systems Administrator – Atlassian will be responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing Atlassian products along with other development applications. This role involves configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting Atlassian tools to ensure seamless operations, while providing technical support and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, customer-focused, technically adept, and flexible to support global teams across AMER and EMEA time zones, including weekend as needed. The role requires solid understanding of infrastructure technologies and scalable system design. This is a hands-on role but will also create documentation and controls procedures for an organization with key compliance requirements: SOX, ISO 9001 / 27001, SOC2, etc...

 

About your responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries through multiple channels (phone, email, chat, portal).
  • Ensure positive user experience with Atlassian Cloud products.
  • Understand customer use cases, perform troubleshooting, and implement workarounds for product issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to users on effective product usage.
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles and SOP documentation.
  • Administer Atlassian Cloud environments including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Bitbucket, and Confluence.
  • Maintain and optimize workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, and automation rules.
  • Support integrations with and development tools via REST API or available connectors (e.g., Slack, GitHub).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across Atlassian tools.
  • Support front-end troubleshooting and basic networking diagnostics (DNS, DHCP, SSL, proxies, firewalls).
  • Document solutions and workarounds in ticketing and knowledge management systems.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to product engineering or other specialized teams.
  • Provide product improvement feedback to development teams.
  • Stay current with latest Atlassian product updates, patches, and bug fixes.
  • Work closely with Product Engineering, Professional Services, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior support staff.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of support processes and product functionality.

Experience, skills and knowledge you should bring to us

  • 1–3 years of customer-facing or technical support experience.
  • Strong understanding of Operating Systems, Databases, Networking Concepts, and Cloud Computing.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database querying.
  • Experience with REST APIs, front-end troubleshooting, and network diagnostics.o Knowledge of Linux and Java web servers.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and work effectively in a remote, diverse team environment.
  • Flexibility to work fixed shifts, including weekend rotations.

Bonus skills that will help you hit the ground running

  • Experience with Atlassian Marketplace apps; familiarity with Jira automation rules; knowledge of Jira permissions model.
  • Experience with authentication protocols (OAuth, SSO, SAML).
  • Familiarity with Cloud platforms, especially AWS.
  • Knowledge of email protocols (SMTP, POP, IMAP) and mail flow concepts.
  • Understanding of Java-based applications and stack trace analysis.
  • Exposure to development tools such as Docker, GitLab, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with log analysis tools (Splunk) and browser developer tools (HAR file analysis).
