About the team

As a Software Engineer at Certara, you play a role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our software solutions. Your expertise in software development and commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant solutions for our customers will guide your day to day. You will work with a variety of technologies and frameworks to complete tasks in an efficient manner. You will collaborate with cross-functional multinational teams to drive innovative solutions in an agile environment.

This role will be part of the Pinnacle 21 portfolio. As clinical trial data are collected and prepared for submission to a health authority, the Pinnacle 21 platform ensures they comply with data standards and are ready for regulatory review. It's used by the FDA, Japan’s PMDA, and global biopharmaceutical sponsors and clinical research organizations to validate clinical trial data. Pinnacle 21’s software empowers the life sciences industry to ensure clinical data quality or “fitness,” enabling fast and smooth marketing approvals. In fact, it's the platform that drives the FDA’s 21st Century Review Initiative. 

 

About your responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise software applications using a wide range of technologies, such as Java, Javascript, Play framework and Scala.
  • Collaborate closely with members of the product, test, and software engineering organizations, in order to deliver software eliciting all requirements.
  • Author and review unit/integration tests.
  • Participate in code and software review processes, actively decide on how a deliverable will be tested and/or reviewed.
  • Build expertise on one or more major features of our software application.
  • Operate with minimal oversight, and proactively engage with leadership when necessary.
  • Consistently meet all compliance requirements for the assigned project and broader organization.
  • Pro-actively create written documentation to improve the documented assets for our product.
  • Be engaged in leading a project with the continuous support of more senior members of the team.
  • Develop an understanding of the business domain associated with assigned work.
  • Develop your own individual growth plan in collaboration with management, and make continual progress towards that plan.

 

Experience, skills and knowledge you should bring to us

  • 2-3 years of experience in full-stack software development, using Java and Javascript.
  • Experience with developing enterprise web applications in an agile environment.
  • Good understanding of general software development principles, concepts and design.
  • Curious, open mindset, and willingness to pro-actively contribute to the success of the team.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, with an outgoing and people-oriented attitude.
  • Highly proficient English language skills, both written and spoken.

 

Bonus skills that will help you hit the ground running

  • Experience with Play framework and/or Scala.
  • An interest in, or previous experience with Shape-Up product development methodology.
  • Experience in developing validated software.
