About the team
The Business Intelligence and Analytics team is a small group of BI professionals within Certara's Information Technology department with the mission to design and deliver BI and Data solutions enabling data-driven decision making and insights generation for the whole company.
About the role
The Senior BI & Data Solution Analyst role is responsible for designing, building and maintaining the Certara’s BI and Analytics architecture and content that supports business decisions, insight generation and data governance across the company’s multiple functions (including but not limited to: Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, HR, IT). The Senior Analyst partners with Business Domains and the Data Engineering Team and has E2E ownership of the BI process from planning, value identification, requirements gathering, functional design, data modeling, visualization, test, release and end user support. The Analyst leverages their experience in the field to provide guidance and best practices to the wider team on the above mentioned BI process steps. The role also includes exploration of emerging technologies in the BI/Analytics domain to support the Data-driven company strategy.
About your responsibilities
- Key contributor to the design and build of the company’s new (reliable and fast-responding) BI & Data Analytics architecture
- Own and continuously evolve BI structures and content (Designs, Data Models, KPIs, Reports, Dashboards) for the supported functions across the whole product lifecycle (assess, design, build, test, release/support) focusing on highest value and best practice design
- Provide guidance and support for wider BI team across the process leveraging technical and business expertise
- Collaborate with Business Functions on planning, high value requirement identification, drive the business need assessment process, turn requirements into functional specifications
- Collaborate with Data Engineering Team to create appropriate technical solution, data model, data transformation rules and drive team level quality standards and adherence
- Build, test, release and support BI and Data Analytics products
- Support the company strategy with exploring and implementing reporting automation, simplification and standardization opportunities
- Seek optimal solutions to the emerging new BI and Data Analysis needs including investigating and introducing technologies that are new to Certara BI
- Drive and support Data Governance process with the aim of increasing Data Literacy and Data Quality within the organization
- Train end users, share best practices to help improve user adoption of BI & Data Analysis solutions
- Create and keep relevant documentation up to date and of high quality
Experience, skills and knowledge you should bring to us
- Minimum 6 years of experience in BI/Reporting or Data Analysis
- Bachelor degree IT/Business/Management/Economics or equivalent experience
- Excellent Business Analysis skills (requirements gathering, design, process mapping, data modeling etc.)
- Excellent grasp of data visualization methods, technologies (at least one BI tool) and storytelling
- Demonstrable experience in E2E BI Product development and ownership
- Excellent tabular application skills (Excel, Google Sheets etc.)
- Working knowledge of SQL and understanding of database/data warehousing fundamentals (ETL patterns, normalization, star/snowflake schemas, indexes, partitioning etc.)
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, business acumen
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills (English and Hungarian)
- Enthusiasm for exploring and creating new solutions, new business processes and new best practices
Bonus skills that will help you hit the ground running
- Programming skills and automation experience (R, Python etc.)
