About the team

Our product development teams are dedicated to building best-in-class products in the field of cheminformatics. We are a creative, dynamic, and innovative company with a wide range of technologies and unique projects in this niche market segment.
Right now we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our core R&D team developing the chemical intelligence behind our products. From chemical modeling to reaction handling and algorithm-heavy workflows, we develop the foundational Java libraries that drive our cheminformatics platform. With over 25 years of deep chemical expertise, we work at the intersection of science and software - supporting everything from internal tools to customer-built applications. Our work is both legacy and leading-edge: maintaining decades of proven code while modernizing it for the future.

About your responsibilities

  • We are looking for a highly skilled Java developer with strong algorithmic skills, and an interest in chemistry
  • You will have an opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies in a variety of areas, working with new and legacy code as well
  • Good, clean, maintainable code is important for us
  • You will be involved in ideation, concept creation, where you will present your ideas using your communication & English skills as well
  • As a team member, you will become responsible for the team’s products, which means involvement in technical support for our clients

Experience, skills and knowledge you should bring to us

  • BSc or higher degree in Computer Sciences, Chemistry or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong Java knowledge
  • Good general programming background (like OO design, TDD, design patterns, etc.)
  • Experience with JUnit, Gradle, Git
  • Good command of English
  • Good work ethic, productive, proactive behaviour
  • Ability to work in a team and also to solve problems alone
  • Willingness to work with a variety of technologies
  • Willingness to learn continuously

Bonus skills that will help you hit the ground running

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Spring
  • Experience with Docker, AWS, Terraform, Jenkins/GitLabCI
  • Knowledge of Security principles
