About the team
We are looking for a Marketing Development Representative, who fills a key role in coordinating efforts between the sales and marketing organizations. Uniquely the role reports to the Marketing Department, but has a career path progressing to the Sales Department.
The MDR receives, processes and qualifies inbound leads and hands them over to the Sales Department based on predefined rules. The MDR provides general support to the Sales team to convert leads to opportunities and supports the Marketing team by ensuring leads do not go to waste and providing feedback on lead quality.
On top of these responsibilities, the MDR also handles inbound interest for our free academic packages - corresponding with applicants, supporting them in gaining access to the package and keeping track of our pool of academic contributors.
About your responsibilities
- Manage incoming leads from new and existing customers, replying to their inquiries or forwarding them to the appropriate department/colleagues
- Qualifying MQLs through online research (ie. LinkedIn, company websites, etc.) and qualification calls
- Engage with leads with a nurturing approach, providing content that can help their conversion
- Support the organization of webinars, customer events and exhibitions through one on one invitations, answering queries about upcoming events, reaching out to customers to setup meetings for account managers in advance of the events.
- Handle the post event lead upload process promptly, ensuring that lead data is uploaded correctly
- Support market research efforts by emailing and calling customers and prospects
- Diligently update the CRM to stay current on leads and follow-ups
- Create weekly lead and opportunity reports for sales
- Manage incoming academic interest in our free academic packages
- Track our pool of academic contributors
Experience, skills and knowledge you should bring to us
- Ability to start and maintain successful dialogue with clients and prospects on different forums (email, LinkedIn, phone, chat, conference etc.) in English
- Organized and diligent in administration
- Ambitious, with an appetite for self development and a carrier in sales
- A BSc/MSc degree in economics, sales, marketing or other equivalent
