Job description
About the team
If you want to understand why a forecast behaves the way it does, not just use the output, this role puts that question at the centre of your work. Reporting to the Kinaxis Planning Systems Lead, Europe, you’ll work with Castrol’s planners, global planning experts and technical teams to improve Kinaxis demand logic, planning master data and system setup.
Key tasks
- Investigate how Kinaxis Maestro’s forecasting logic and planning data work together, validating whether models are set up and behaving correctly. Your focus is the system and data behind the forecast.
- Improve demand-related system setup and planning master data, translating planners’ needs into clear requirements for technical teams.
- Work with planning and digital colleagues on implementation, testing and agreed system enhancements, including authoring activities and agile delivery.
- Provide hands-on Kinaxis guidance to planners, resolve queries and investigate process or system issues. Triage defects and enhancement requests through the agreed support and prioritisation processes.
- Contribute to the regional improvement roadmap owned by the Kinaxis Planning Systems Lead, supporting process changes and the adoption of new capabilities.
- Contribute to Forecast-to-Stock processes, procedures and governance across the region. Assess planning practices against the global playbook and identify improvements across demand, supply, distribution, inventory and production planning.
- Train, coach and onboard planners, helping them understand end-to-end processes and use the system effectively. Maintain training materials, operating procedures and guidance aligned with the global planning operating model.
- Contribute to the planning specialist community and work with Order-to-Cash and technical teams to share best practices, build capability and inform future enhancements within Global Castrol Supply Chain policies and strategy.
Experience required
- Five years’ experience in supply chain planning system design and implementation, with strong knowledge of demand, supply and inventory planning and planning master data in Kinaxis Maestro.
- Hands-on Kinaxis experience beyond end-user operation, with evidence of contributing to implementation, configuration, testing or system improvements. Contributor- or Author-level experience with Kinaxis RapidResponse or Maestro is an advantage.
- Proven supply chain planning experience using an end-to-end digital planning tool, with proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including assessing planning behaviours, tracing process or data issues and improving consistency.
- Effective communication, training and coaching skills, with the ability to work across local, regional and global planning teams, IT colleagues and technical providers.
- Experience in change management and user adoption, supporting planning colleagues in Pune and other markets.
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred, not essential.
